LTS December Snow Conditions

Im so jealous!!! If only I could get my loser friends to man up and be willing to travel a little ways to ride. Weather forecasts look like exactly what we need.

Keep dancing, Steve. Keep dancing. It's time for a good dumper.

Nice BS'ing with you yesterday. Gary got about 30 miles on his new white roach and the D-shaft survived the first run.

Came out this Morning in my Tucker SnoCat. Snow is thin from Perrazo to the Parking Lot. As of today stage at Perazzo. Lake of the Woods is getting to Deep to drive threw. Grooming starts after there is a foot or more on the road and the Road is Closed. Right now the Road is still open. If the Storms pan out this week it should close the Road. We will have to wait and see I guess. I was at Jackson Meadows last thursday, Snow is thin on that side as well. Several Trees down from the 13 Mile Marker to the Lake. Chain Saw and the blade on the Tucker took care of that problem. If I can find out more about the Grooming this week I will let everybody know.

The 07 road is still open. I moved my truck today to Independence turnoff. There's no place to turn around after that with a trailer so don't go. We got 12"+ but with the snow drifts much more. Got word today when we get 12" of snow at the parking lot grooming will start. Also heard we have new groomer, Sierra Snow Cat Inc. Welcome Matt

NOAA 18 December 3PM PST

A Major snow storm is forecast to hit interior northern California Thursday through Sunday 20-23 DEC.

Three to more than 6 feet of snow is forecast over the mountains through the four-day period.

Snow levels will be much lower in the Shasta County mountainsdown to around 500 feet on Thursday before rising to above 3000 feet during the weekend. This means heavy snowfall along Interstate 5 is likely with possible accumulations of 1 to 3 feet.

The mountain valleys of Plumas County will also experience snowwith 1 to 2 feet possible in the Chester and Quincy areas.

Along the Interstate 80 and Highway 50 corridor4 to 5 feet of snow is forecastwith higher amounts possible for the area ski resorts.

South of the Highway 501 to 3 feet of snow is expected.

Over the coastal rangeheavy snow is expected along highway 36 and the Mendocino Pass along Highway 162 with 3 to 6 feet possible at the higher elevations.

These snowfall amounts can lead to travel delays and road closures. If planning travel over the mountainsbe sure to monitor the latest forecasts. Be prepared for hazardous winter travel.

Most of the sled shops in Reno sell snopark passes as well as Cali ohv permits, if you need them.

So if I read this right... I would need a SNOPARK Pass for my truck, and a CALI OHV permit for each individual sled? I would be launching out of LTS...

Yes you are correct. Unless you have the NEW Nevada OHV sticker then you just need a pass for your buggy.
