Lost my first QD belt

Lost the first one today. Stripped off about a half dozen teeth. First started to sound like track ratchet. Maybe it was. Next thing I was defenetly missing teeth.

Checked the odometer right then. Bang on 700 miles. So far everything else looks good. Could track ratchet have led to it?

Here is my thought. A little track ratchet leads to moments of changing stress on the drive live. This happens a few times and the weak link goes strips out.

Thoughts?

Also everyone should know that was 700 miles of hard riding. I'm a flatlander. It has seen more approaches than powder. The opposite of what it was designed for. So it's seen some pretty good shock loads

That doesn't matter. This system is a joke if that is the best they can.

I wouldn't go that far. I've had chain drive systems fail in similar mileage If it can I break I will do it.

There is a reason my Polaris rep calls me at home from time to time.

FYI I was told by someone that knows to always warm that belt up! even after you stop for lunch or what ever. All it takes is slowly engaging the drive system for about 500 ft then let r rip

I'm getting tired of all the excuses people have for the belt stripping out or breaking in multiple threads on here. If the damn thing is that fragile they shouldn't of used it, because Polaris knows these sleds are put through some severe conditions. break it in, warm it up, don't jump, don't land while giving it throttle, don't bend, don't twist, don't get any fluids on it, and the list goes on and on and on!!! BS!!!

I wonder what's the reason of crashing the belts? Hi-temperature because of close positioning to silencer? ...or low space under the drivebelt? Maybe there was some ice which hit the belt? :face-icon-small-sho

They are junk belts. Their are stronger cheaper belts used for farm machinery and such that take more of a beating. C3 belt drives and cmx belt drive have not had any of theses issues.

What is "C3 or CMX" ? Can you give me their web-site or contacts? Why do you think they are better? Thanks.

OMG even some water skipping on the tow out.....wow! Yes, polaris engineers should be required to watch this vid
