Losing Top end RPMs.

I have a 03 800 RMK vertical edge. I trying to figure out why I'm losing RPMs on the topend. What I'm wondering is if the VES values are a little plugged, would my topend suffer? This problem occures on a long hill climb when hammer is put down. Running wide open. It sounds like it is running too rich at times also. When I back out of the throttle, the problem does not happen. Hope this is clear.

Thanks.

Probably to much heat under the hood and the belt is getting hot . Generally if this is the case your rpm will drop to maybe 76to 7900/

could be a number of things. Could be worn clutch springs or the helix is steep or secondary spring too soft. If you take the VES valves out check the bellows and clean all holes of oil. Another problem is in higher elevation the exhaust valve springs need to be changed. Not sure which way because I ride a sea level.

CLUTCH, VES, TPS

IF IT WORKS BETTER TO BACK OF THROTTLE THEN IT IS THE TPS

I pulled out one of my bellows and found out that there is a hole in it. Replaced the bellow and will try the sled out in a couple of days and see if it fixed the problem.

Thanks for the info.
