Looking for help with drive shaft -dealers people with project sleds

I have a 2011 Pro 800 that had the drive shaft bearing fail. It was replaced and failed again within 60 miles. After talking to the mechanic who did the original replacement and my dealer the consensus is that the drive shaft needs to be replaced as it was likely damaged when the first bearing failed. My local dealer has been great in getting this taken care of under warranty, however Polaris says the part will not be available until March 16. The local dealer has used the parts locator and made calls and keep running in to same answer. I am hoping that if I get the word out maybe someone will have one around or have a suggestion for getting me back on the snow. It has already been down for 2 weeks and I don't like the prospect of not having my sled for another 3 weeks. The Polaris part number is 1590486. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

contact Mark Hoffman at CMX... He may have a couple to sell when he installs the belt drives.

Thanks for the tip. I did contact cmx and they did not have one available either. I am just trying to find any other option instead of waiting until at least March 16th when polaris says it may be available. I have spent hours on the phone with Polaris customer service and all I have gotten out of them is that they are sorry but won't help me in any other way and basically just don't give a s***.

Dont know if a shaft/parts from a standard will work, but my buddy is parting above sled out and has stuff available.

I had the same thing happen on a Dragon that I had, I took the shaft to a local machine shop and had them resurface the bearing end and mill it to spec and press on the new bearing. $85 bucks and still going strong, had it back the next day.

Thanks for the info. I am going back to the dealer in the morning with the option to either do the machining or also I was able to find a take off from someone with a cmx belt drive (thanks mountainhorse), so we will se what happens but I should be back up and running soon.
