i sent my attitude control box back to silber to have it reflashed about a week and a half ago. well i was working on some other things and called him with another question this weekend and asked if he had gotten around to reflashing my box yet. he says he hasnt seen it so logged into our ups to check tracking and it was delivered the previous friday and it just said left at front door. according to my ups driver they are not allowed to just leave stuff at the door of a business..... so now im without a box what steps do i take next. so far im getting nowhere with this and with all our years of using ups we have never had a problem like this so whos responsibility is it now? i just dont want to let this get brushed off i almost feel bad bothering justin about it but i also feel that if i dont stay on him about it hes gonna forget about it or just blow it off. do i need to call ups up in his area to get this moving? im just a little fed up at this point with as little as i get to ride i felt like it was close finally and now it feels like i cant get any help. can somebody please advise me what i should be doing right now. i really dont want to drive to mn to dig through the snowbanks to see if it got scooped up or blown away since i guess its ok to just leave boxes at the door if nobody is around...
 
sorry if thats how it reads. this is only to help me find out what to do to help speed this process along. justin has always been super helpful and im not saying he isnt now. i only include his name in the post in hopes somebody in the area reads this and can track down the local delivery guy or something idk. justin has a great product and great service but his ups guy sucks is the way i would read this :beer:
 
tree_climber it does not read anything like EricW is saying. Sounds like ur pissed at UPS and for good reason. Hope it works out for ya.
 
thanks fred i feel better now that its not being read that way by everybody. i shouldnt have waited a week before asking about it either. i just figured it was because he was busy not that it was lost
 
tried re tracking it hoping that it just some how got sent back to a sorting facility or something but no luck. so filed a claim for lost package hopefully this works out ok in the end
 
Well if its any consolation, I sent my Digatron gauge to Digatron for repairs. I got a call from them on Dec 22 telling me they are sending it back to me repaired. Kept tracking the package and all it said was it was dropped off on the 22nd....arrggg. I had written it off, Digatron was going to give USPS some time to figure out what happened, and if they couldnt find it Digatron was going to send me a replacement......I just got the original unit yesterday, almost a month later. Sometimes it does work out,hopefully you will have the same luck

I deleted my original post thinking I may have overstated my position and did not read correctly what tree-climer was trying to convey. After I deleted it I thought about how it made the follow up posts by tree & fred look out of place.

Sorry about that, bottom line is I really do hope you get back on the snow soon. Sorry about the confusion. EW
 
Was it insured? I had yhis same thing happen with some cylinders and had to fight for it but i had insurance on them. they paid up with in 30 days sure hope thgis works out and sure hope you had insurance.

UPS? Good luck dealing with them, also like many carriers they are self insured so collecting on insurance can be difficult as well, I think you were lucky!
 
First step, I'd buy a new one. Sorry to say that, but I've dealt with shipping losses before & they're a nightmare. Get a new one from Justin, set up so it's ready to go (or from attitude, and plug the #'s yourself) and you can get back riding. THEN deal with getting your money, good luck, I've had it go both ways.
 
yeah im trying to get another box right now justin is out at the moment. says he can get one thursday and its one day shipping ups here to there so if all goes well hopefully can have it after all. as for insurance we didnt. we thought we were shipping to a business and ups is not allowed to just leave packages without signing. turns out the address i sent to is justins house or something so it may really be hard getting this sorted. my cousin (who handles the shipping at our company) feels that if they dont cover it after all the years we have been using them and the amount of stuff coming and going through them from our shop we may just say eff it it and switch to another carrier. im sure a company the size of ups could care less losing one client but its a priciple thing haha

is it possible to flash these boxes without sending them off to be flashed? i would much rather have done that and i would love the ability to try different flashes without having to send off my box and risk losing it again haha
 
kinda sounds like our fed ex guy here. He didnt want to drive out to the farm 25 miles. So he went to the post office and mailed them to us. Paid out of his pocket. We got it 2 days latter and i went off on him and his boss. nothing ever really came of it but i was pissed and to boot it was the wifes medication. So now we now go threw ups to get it here.

No, you need to have a Dobeck docking station ($300) and the .hex file (along with the software - online account) to flash these boxes.
