Looking for a good place to stay

Been going to Cooke for a long time, getting tired of it. I have been to CO before back in 09, we stayed at Dutch Creek up by Steamboat Lake. It was a great place to stay but now people in our group need gas pumps close by. (Not 5 miles away). I was thinking SLO but there website has nothing about snowmobiling on it anymore. Are they anti-sleds now? I've never ridden Rabbit Ears but i hear it gets really crowded which i dont want, that why im looking for something other than Cooke. Where to ride/stay?? Thanks for the help guys!

vagabond ranch

check out www.vrhuts.com. Jeremy has gas on site and the ranch is spectacular and positioned in a very beautiful setting. snowmobile in/out and you are close to rabbit ears for day trip and also grand lake via trails. Jeremy is great and will take care of you. more snow please

Your search is over!!! Give me a call, we have just what you are looking for. I too am from the midwest and can put you in touch with a lot of guys from there who can verify what we have. Check us out at www.thundermountainlodge.net to see photos and accomadations. The area is huge, 800 sq. miles of the finest powder anywhere. We got 24" last weekend to get off to a good start to the season. Thanks, Mark 970-856-6240

No offense to you cannon but were kinda set on the area around steamboat lake, your place looks very nice.

Last time i was out there we got sound tested, but there was no laws yet they were just experimenting. Is there a sound limit there now? Also, has any of the riding area around there been eliminated?

To my knowledge there is a sound law throughout CO. but I have not heard of it being enforced. They did do some testing in the USFS Visitor center parking lot 2 years ago but I have not seen anything since then. No areas lost around here. It is the west slope after all! All ranchers, oil, and recreation. Steamboat area and Rabbit Ears are ok just a ton smaller area with a lot more people.

Mark is the best, and the food is world class (Rosco's). He knows how to take care of people and make you feel at home. The is such a big area to ride up on the mesa and the snow is great. Just my 2 cent's.

No doubt my favorite area in colorado. I was blessed to be shown this place last year. I live in boulder and I can't wait to stay there this winter for many visits, explore the area and meet more riders. There are so many places to go and the area is virtually fresh everywhere. Definitely go, don't hesitate to try something new, you'll love the snow and area and yes rosco's is awesome.
