Looking at new M chassis sleds.. Unsure which to buy

Hello all!

Recently sold my 2008 Polaris rmk 700 and I am now looking for an 09-11 M chassis. I am currently torn between two sleds and I'm not sure which would be a better deal.

The first sled is a 2011 M8 162 track Sno Pro. It is all stock and has 1150 miles. They are asking $5500 for it

The second sled is a 2009 M8 153 Sno Pro. This sled has the full SLP pipe set, SLP airbox, Tri keel skis, bags, riser, and a boss seat. The mileage is 850. They are asking $5400.


I currently ride a 155, but at times did think that I could use a longer track.. Granted those days are few and far between with our recent winters in the NW. What's everyone's opinions on the sleds? I can't decide if the 09's upgrades outweigh the 2011's HO motor and refinement. Thanks!

I'd offer $5000 on the 2011 and buy it. Was the best m series made.

If you ride above 8000' ft the pipe won't do much for you. Sno pro comes with adjustable riser. Factory intake on the m series wansnt a bad design anyway. I personally liked the 2011 seat. Lots of storage, light weight and much better design for movement then the older style

The added power of the H. O. motor is very noticeable at high elevations. As for the track the 153 is a bit more sporty for most riding where you are able to stay in the throttle, but after a fresh snow and in limited visibility situations the 162 will let you go a little slower and even stop to pick a line.

I was just in the same market as you, is the 11 the one from Vancouver? If it is zoom in real close at the pictures, it's had a hard life for the miles. The hood is also cracked. I had him send me some better pics, if you want I can email them to you.

Second one sounds like the one from Wilsonville, nice looking sled, just way over priced. I wouldn't give more than $4,500 for that one with so many 10-11's in the 5k range.

I was shopping the exact same market as you and ended up going to the Pro Climb chassis. I can give you the numbers for some up in Washington you can buy from $5500 to $6k with miles from 480 to 1500 if you don't mind traveling to the Seattle area. Give this thread a quick read and maybe you'll head the same direction. I think for the same or a little more money it's a no brainer!

Yes those are the exact sleds I was looking at... Luckily I live very close to both of them and will check them out this weekend. Thanks for the information on them! I also came to the conclusion that the 09's are over priced for what you get. If you have some leads on pro climb chassis I might be interested. Although I'm still VERY skeptical on how they handle

I rode a highly modded M for 4 seasons and would take a stock 12 Pro Climb over it any day. I loved that M but the PC is like going from a Escape chassis to the Dragon. It's just on a different level. Heres a linq to one of the 12's, you can buy it for $6k, I think if you rode them side by side you'd come to the same conclusion.

2011 all the way. 09's had problems. 2011's rrrrip and are tuned so well

I have an 09 with the SLP stage 3 kit. It works great with the motor upgrades that make it perform more like (maybe better) than a HO sled. I upgraded the seat to a 2011 and yes, it's way better than the 09 seat. I had my shocks re-valved but, the shocks are calibrated much better on 2011 as well.


The only thing I can think of that may not be a good on the 2010 and 2011 models is the primary clutch seems to have multiple issues on these sleds. The 09 and earlier didn't seem to have these issues.

If you don't mind driving 5 hours to Canada, you can get a brand new 15 proclimb for around 7k with how strong the dollar is right now.
