The sled has 1000 miles on it. Is there anything I need to check or be aware of with that engine and year of sled? Sellers wants $3,500.

Do you think it's too much sled for a 12 yr old. He's coming off a phazer.

hmmmmm

that would depend on lots of stuff how big is he how long has he been riding but I don't see why not hes only gonna grow into it :face-icon-small-hap

Yup, that front bumper is crap. Not sure if you can upgrade to an 09-10 front end on an 07, but if you can... it would be the best upgrade for that sled.

I snapped the bumper on my 08 700 just moving it around in the garage. Why Poo put a plastic bumper on is beyond me. The upgrade is pretty easy to do. Costs $500 for the kit from Poo. Just make sure to use a pnuematic rivet gun or it will take days to hand rivet all the fenders.

I had a 2007 Switchback with a 600 CFI and I loved it! Sold it with 5400 miles for $4200 3 years ago when I upgraded sleds. Never did anything but regular maintenance. The sled even got 16-18 MPG when trail/ditch riding hard!

The bad: front bumper is junk. It will crack if you pull on it when the plastic is cold. Mine had a front radiator which was beneath the bumper. It always clogged full of snow when riding off trail, causing a higher engine temp. Frog Skinz covers would fix this. I had an adjustable steering post, which made turning while in the "forward" position awkward. Something you just need to get used to.

I have on 06 600 and love it. My only gripes are that mine is a 144" instead of a 155" and the front bumper. I'm also not a fan of the hood and plastics, but I think that's improved on the '07's if I remember right.

I'm about 260 totally geared and it gets up and goes just fine. For the kids, they need to be careful for the first season or so, as it handles nothing like a phazer at all. I have my 12 year old daughter riding mine periodically (she prefers my wife's '99 600) in a controlled space so that I can teach her to ride it. You will not be disappointed at all in the reliability and power of the motor. I actually prefer the adjustable steering because the 1 and 2 settings make it easier for my daughter when she's on it.

Haven't checked prices lately, but I think that's fair for the mileage looking through classifieds a few months ago.
