His grandfather taught him when he was young that during the Pledge of Allegiance you put your hand over you heart and during the National Anthem you sing(without putting your hand over your head, as so many people do). Old habits die hard and he has since broken that habit, probably because the people that take chain e-mails as gospel hounded him.
