local polaris dealer didnt warranty my sled and gave me a lame reason

Post a pic of the Line-X

I gotta see how it looks. I just don't see any advantages, what is the advantage of Line-X. Did it cover the coolers? Does it make the coolers not work properly? Post some pics, enquiring minds need to know! -00's

read the thread in the poo section, apparently lil dart dip chit started it all to "stir the Pot" for his entertainment. Idiots like this attention getter is why this cite is going to chit.

Do they teach english in Montana? Or maybe he was late for the short bus to often?

Kurt's Polaris here in Missoula have always been real good to me with warranty work. I am sure if the dealer could get paid for the work from Polaris they would have done the work. Just my opinion however.

P.s.
I believe they might also have the internet at dealers and might also be members on this sight. So I would not be surprised if some dealers know what mods have been installed on some sleds.

Every dealership I've ever been in has internet access. Some of the employees are actually even enthusiasts and come here. I've seen many posts from dealers on here as I've been lurking for a while.

Even if the dealer had looked here, I'm sure that they would have never found this post listing all the mods done to the sled!

You know if you truley linexed over the coolers I was say that was really not to smart. But I cant imagine someone actually doing this so I am going to assume you didnt. A dealer surely can not deny warranty on that then. BTW, The question was asked about weight and it was not light I am sure. Did you ever weigh it to determine how much it did add?

Line-x

I ride with 440dart, of course he did not line-x over the coolers, whoever thought that is plain dumb. The reason he did it was simply because he was getting tired of always polishing and maintaining the tunnel to make it look nice. We ride in heavy tree areas where the branches and brush are constantly scraping up the tunnel. The line-x was sprayed on the tunnel by our local installer very thin, we weighed it and the sled overall gained about 1.5lbs. Not much to say the least, this was an experiment. It turned out great the snow has a hard time sticking to it, it resists wear and corrosion, it might not look as good as powder coating, but it holds up better and is more cost effective. If anything it was a good investment it tunnel longevity. So, for the dealer to say that the line-x caused it to burn down is crazy.

absolute bullcrap the dealer gets paid shop rate from polaris to fix warranty issues talk to a factory rep!

Not quite true . The dealer gets about 1/2 the shop rate and about 1/2 the time to do the job . Then gets turned down real quick on any claims that are even slightly questionable . Gets down to how much money your dealer is willing to eat on your behalf .

Not quite true, dealer gets his full shop rate, and a good mechanic can do the job in the time given and you can ask for more time if you have a good reason.I know this because ive done it a 101 times. They may give ya a tough time but almost always cover it. Now a guy shouldnt expect a modded sled to have engine coverage..

Yep. There is not that much inductive cooling transfer from the tunnel to the coolers that line-xing the tunnel would make you motor burn down.

He can probably tell that it had twin pipes on it though if you did take them off.

Hope you get it fixed.
