took my 08 dragon 700 motor locked up iam sure its my fault pic it up yesterday said they couldnt do anything for me because i had my tunnel line x and it held in heat and thats why it blew up i just tore it apart cyl on the clutch side chunks of aluminum everywhere and cyl on pull rope side was perfect no sign of being hot no detonation no ingestion of water but the biggest problem i had was i wait little over a month for them to tell me they couldnt do it and they didnt even move it from the spot it was sitting where i left it they didnt even take the head off to look at the pistons

That sucks, although if you're talking about the dealer I think you are (I'm betting you live in the flathead), it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of warranty problems with them.

EDIT: I won't say the name of the dealer because I don't have a dog in this fight...

couldn't you poolaris riders in the Flathead take a road trip down to seely or ronan??

Doesen't that sled go into studder mode if it overheats? What does the piston look like? does it look like an overheat seize? If they didn't bother to tear it down how do they know in the first place? These Freaking dealers need to get their heads out of their azzes!

You need to get the Polaris rep involved. If it was too hot, the sled should have shut down. Is the piston scratched on the intake or exhaust side? Did you line-x the heat exchangers?

put a period or two in your paragraph. It's hard to read

How much weight did the line x add?

yes there were twin. on it iam not saying it wasnt. my fault but the 400miles. that i put on that setup. never had a prob should. of done it in the first. 100 or on the day of 5 ft of fluff and wot everywhere. the thing is it sat. for a month. and it sat in the same very exact spot i left it they didnt even touch it just told me to come pick it up cant do it cuz. of the line x.

Pull the whole engine and take it to a different dealer, give them your VIN, tell them how it sat in a different dealership and that they didn't even touch it. Good luck!

I just heard of this at work this morning!! My friend just had a 700 send a rod out the case at Ashley lake; they warrentied it. This was a week and a half ago.

Hummm,, Twin pipes,,, Line X on your tunnel.. What else?

Ok,,, now to many periods..

What kind of EGT gauge were you running? Were you in a hard throttle down when burndown happened. Or was it running low load trail condition.
I am thinking they scoped your motor threw the ves valve holes, contacted polaris with what they saw with mods etc and waited for an answer. Which sounds like polaris won't pay them to fix it. Pretty sure if they could, they would have done the work. Really slow for the shops down here. Time for Big Bore.;)

After rereading your post. Boy was I off bsae with my answer. You didn't overheat it you burnt the frigging thing down! Big difference! No, Polaris sure as sh!t isn't going to cover that screw up. Why did you even bother to take it to them in the first place? You would have been further ahead of the game if you took it apart and started asking what to do right here. The answers wouldn't have been what you wanted to hear either, but you would have been a month ahead of where you are now.
