So California is in a world of hurt with their debt/income ratio, and Nevada is just 1 step behind them.
So one good way to generate revenue is to pull as many people over and write as many tickets as you can.
I have to admit, I've been pulled over 2 times this last month, 1: not completely stopping at a stop sign, HWY Patrol was stopped and out of his car 50 yards up from the sign, and motions for me to pull over (he was pulling over 1 car after another for running the stop sign) Says he has a camera setup in his car and wrote me a ticket.
2: Got pulled over for speeding through town, driving right next to another truck, hwy patrol pulls out from a parking lot and by this time the truck I was next to overtook me, hp drives past me and pulls the truck over, then sticks her hand out the window and signals for me to pull over, I was 100 yds behind the her when she pulled the other truck over.
Never-the-less, for the most part, people have slowed down with their driving as they are trying to save on fuel.
My point is, eventually these people are going to get laid off, as the budgets are shot. I see hwy patrol, and sheriff cars EVERYWHERE now looking for speeders, and drivers breaking the law.
The commercials now say, WE ARE CRACKING DOWN ON SPEEDERS. There is no longer any warnings given, you get a ticket no matter what. People are already in a pinch with the rising costs of essentials, do they really have the monies to be paying $100 tickets.
Are you seeing the same thing in your county/state? How do you feel about that?
