Lightest AXYS

One thing about these light sleds. They don't get a lot of miles on them. Reason: one broken lightweight part and it sits until the part can be replaced from the aftermarket supplier. Been down that road and it sucks. I now build mine with as many stock parts as possible. Then if I wreck something on the hill I can usually be back in business quick with 4 dealers within a 100mi. Break a lightweight part on Friday and no parts till the following week, that is not to my liking. PI, BRP parts are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Back on the hill and riding without the possibility of ruining a trip is paramount. If you insist riding a high dollar LW sled, bring a spare, your buddies will thank you for it.

And if you have a 2011-2012 or a standard RMK your SOL either way. Couldnt get an aarm on for the most produced of the last 10 years within 300 miles of West Yellowstone. Dealers at home apparently dont carry aarms on hand either. Unbelievable. Rant over, sorry.

I know, been there done that. That is why I buy aftermarket and keep the OEM parts as spares. Last trip, someone in our group needed both upper and lower. Drank a couple of beers, installed some new arms, back riding the next day. Of course, parts on the mountain are always more expensive, since I had them! Lol

LongHorn,
That's the way to do it. Most guys I run into sell their stock parts to help offset the costs associated with the LW parts. That is why the Soda Butte has a bar:face-icon-small-hap

LOL . . . pretty silly huh?

Kinda like Dave Neurotic and his doo :)

I guess every brand has a "talking head" to do the crowing . . . and the crowd follows along :)

I guess that's why it's good to not be brand loyal. Haha.

There's no doubt this sled is probably one of the best backcountry builds ever, but 90% of people couldn't ride this sled even close to its potential and that includes me. It wouldn't be a fun sled for me because I wreck to much stuff.

At least hes converting people to the dark side

I would term it differently;
"He is converting them from the dark side"
(as in from ignorance to seeing the light),
(from the dark ages to the twenty-first century),
(from the use of stone hammer heads lashed to wooden handles to using current technology to our advantage)

I could go on, but you get my perspective.

Not an axys but here's a light 600 pro full of oil and anti freeze no fuel. 366.6 lbs

Please tell how? I think I see part of it. Wonder how light a person could be if they yanked the liquid motor and put in a fanner for my daughter. I have a old 488 fan sitting on the bench. Thanks.

K.... Looked at it again. I see some spendy parts I probably wouldn't buy.

Yeah, a $30k 488 fan cooled sled....HAHA.

Now THAT could be a candidate for a turbo. LOL

Lots of carbon and titanium in there it's still a stock hood, belly pan and right side fender if I replaced those with carbon I might hit 360.

If I could get her down into the 375 range without spending ridiculous money, I would be a happy camper.

136"-144" with the old 488 motor. That's quit a bit lighter than her Lite and a long track phazer. Only advantage those two have is a smaller chasis. I have some Ideas to remedy that though too. This summer I just need to find a blown up doner sled.
