Lightest AXYS

I'm guessing just pulling that turbo and putting a lightweight exhaust on would drop close to another 20 lbs. Not that it would be any better, but if you were going solely for lightweight....

I thought when I watched the video on it they had a titanium exhaust on it or something custom anyway but I don't see that on the list.

Burant's sled is insane.
I would like to ride that.
A lot.

That 390lb mark...I don't think that's a fully dry weight... just going to an aftermarket can gets it down to 396ish.

I'm thinking that's a "damp" weight. Everything but fuel.

And.... Oh yeah, it's 240hp.

If you get a chance to watch the full video they did on the sled they added a few things back to the sled like the Turbo for example as they wanted a "rideable" lightweight sled and also most of the carbon fiber stuff that they had on the Pro-Ride (body panels and tank) was not available for the AXYS yet. I think he also said the boards were heavier then the stock boards they took off.

I'll re watch it tonight and report back........:face-icon-small-coo I'd post the video but I believe it's in the paid section of Burandt TV.

On an NA sled... with CF bodywork/rails, Ti arms and Skid, floats and some other work... I'd say that 370 Dry is def attainable without drilling holes in stuff or going full "Ti Crazy".

I think we'll see Ti pipes next season and I'm sure TJ has some CF magic up his sleeve.

That sled would make me and gamma damp.......

Fixed it for you.

Bad part of this sled is the fuel tank is too small. Apparently the few times he has rode it, he needed the National Guard to haul fuel behind him. This is easily changeable and don't really think it would add much weight, except wet weight. Just not practical in this configuration.

good lord.........we have moist weight now? you polaris junkies are worse than the bean counters at a big corporation!

With all the free parts or heavily discounted parts he likely has less than $16,000 into it and it's used. At $31,900 he's making a killing on it. I guess if owing a Burandt sled will stroke your ego go for it.

Just because he got stuff for free doesn't mean he shouldn't sell it for less than market. If you win a sled in a raffle are you obligated to sell it for the raffle ticket price? $31,900 is his asking price. I'm sure he will work with someone that is serious but the asking price is set to keep the tire kickers away that are shopping for a $15k sled.

$31,000 for that sled that is just broke in at 250 miles is a friggen steal I don't care what you say... try to build a decked out turbo even without the Ti and carbon yourself I bet you'll have more then that in it.

That turbo is 390lbs dry (according to the video). So basically they built a race gas turbo at 20lbs under stock weight. I'd be curious to know how much the weight the turbo added on a stock sled. With a sibler titanium can and fox floats (.25lbs lighter) on the front my sled weighed in at 496lbs fully wet. -100 for fluids puts me around 396 dry.

Someone will buy it because "omg this is Burandt's sled. He actually sat on this seat and touched these handlebars." Lol.

LOL . . . pretty silly huh?

Kinda like Dave Neurotic and his doo :)

I guess every brand has a "talking head" to do the crowing . . . and the crowd follows along :)
