light weight crankshaft in Axys Pro Rmk?

Does anyone know for sure if the new crank is manufactured by Mape or is it a Fugi crank?

Not sure what everyone is freaking out about saying "they will wait to see if this NEW motor has bugs to be worked out". Seems to me it's same motor per say as 13-15, when they thickened cylinder skirts, and went back to the good Fugi crank. These changes alone helped reliability alot over say the 11 and 12 motors! Seems Polaris took this motor package and made excellent refinements! Electric oil pump, race inspired crank, grooved pistons, 3 stage power valves but other then that (which is huge improvement ) it's same specs on motor..

I really want to know though if this new crank will be a Fugi crank though? I sure hope so!

13-15 also had Mape cranks...

The only thing similar is the displacement. Everything else is new.

I'm afraid your terribly wrong on that, 2013 they went to the fugi crank from the mape crank check the part #s from 11-12 and 13 motors they are different, and even cataloged differently from part # on end of crank.

Things the same are:
Bore/stroke
Injector location
cases other then the casted motor mounts
You can take internals of axys 800 and drop right into a 15 motor.

SnoProMod is correct about the internals. We have already done several motors here at Carl's for mod sleds where we took the lightweight crank from the 16's and have put them in this years sleds and they work great. It is a straight crossover as far as fit.

Carl's can you confirm if new 800 axys crank is a Fugi or mape crank?

I believe it is Fuji, but I am not certain. I can check though with my boss Chris and find out though and get back to you! Sound good?

I would greatly appreciate that, thank you!
This is a big deciding factor for me on a new one, as the mape crank was a problem and definitely a weaker crank

And on a side note, I talked to carls about putting the the LW crank in my 13 , works great less vibration more snap on bottom but will void any warranty you have on the motor.

This new crank will fit in anything back to the dragons, but yes it will void your warranty in anything that still has one.

Thanks a bunch carls! I'll be snow checking a new Axys pro rmk!

Even with a 15" wide track??:face-icon-small-sho

Just flickin ya crap! I have $500 burning a hole in my pocket as well this spring. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this engine will prove to be as reliable in the 16's as it has in the 15 flatlander sleds.

Low blow! Haha.

Ya I'm not to concerned about motor just interested in sled reaction to technical terrain. Hope it responds to weight transfer really well. I've owned 5 different pro rmks and all my buddies ride a pro and have only had one motor go down in 5 years. So our track record has been pretty good

It's a quote in somebody's signature on here, but it says, "Looking for problems on the internet is like looking for sick people in a hospital". That is the absolute best way to sum up most "problems" on any forum be it Poo, Doo, Cummins, Powerstroke...anything.

I have to admit, my current ride is a 2004 RMK 700. Fun sled and I've purposely tried not to test ride a Pro because I know it will be the end of my old reliable 700. To this day I have ridden a pro a grand total of about 100 yards. I'm excited to see the difference jumping ahead 12 years and 3 generations of sleds. I am so used to muscling around the edge through the trees that I'll probably jump wrong foot forward first thing, give a big jerk with counter steer and flip it right over on its top!!

Ya that will be biggest mistake is giving too much input, I came from a 06 800 summit rev to the pro and I hated it at first but then I realized how much less effort I needed and the rest is history! The reason there is so much negativity towards Pro rmk motors is its the only garbage people can dig up to hate on them, but when it's the best mountain sled in all conditions your going to catch alot of grief! Heck not even LeBron James can get away from haters, there is always somebody trying to piss in the cheerios bowl of the best.

I'll bet ya $1000 I'm right. I have a '14 with a Mape crank... Even called my engineer buddies at Polaris to verify. Mape and Fugi are used throughout the life of the 800 cfi-2.

The cylinders are different, hence the different injection. They might be VERY close in location, but they are not the same. Same goes for the cases... 800HO is ground up re-design. Bore and stroke are the same. The rest is not.

Mape "AND" Fugi cranks so which one is it? So Carl's performance I suppose is wrong to? Maybe different oiling locations and mounts, as far as cylinders I'd have to measure to see if difference in location, looks pretty damn close to same. I've verified through many performance shops that 13-15 were fugi cranks. 0262# they have a bronze colored connecting rod and slightly thicker pto end, more meat to it. I would love to know why they would use 2 different cranks? Were they cheaper or on sale at different points of engine assembly?
