Lift kits / wheels / tires for snow/ice performance.

So what combination of lift height / wheel - tire size/width do people find gives best performance for getting your trucks and trailers in and out on those sometimes deep snowy/icy forest service road

It doesn't matter what size of lift and tires you have on your truck, the trailer is going to be like an anchor when dragging it thru the deep snow.

I've been impressed with how I set up my Duramax, although some of you might call them "wide" tires. They've worked great so far.

I put a Cognito leveling kit on my 06 LBZ with upgraded tie rods and all the braces along with Bilstein shocks. Tires are 295/65/18 Duratracs on 18x9 XD Revolvers. I've never had an "oh ****" moment yet ;)

I also don't trailer doing 80mph!

Good old 235/85/16's, studded is nice. Put your 8 to 10 foot camper on and you go where you want to. Add chains and theres no stopping in Powder. A guy has to watch the spring stuff though. Biggest mistake so many make is they do lift and oversize tires and never adjust gear ratios. Makes for great MPG downhill though.

best pulling truck i've ever owned(trade every two years for something different) is a 2007 Duramax longbox with a fabtech 8" suspenion and a 3" body lift. It had 40x15.50 22 inch siped Toyo m/t. No chip and it pulled unreal!! Fuel mileage was wayyyyyy better than these new trucks too! I dont lift my trucks anymore but i just gotta laugh at how good it towed! Pulled a 29 foot trailer with five heavy *** yamatanks and two barrels of race fuel everywhere we went. 15mpg

I've had very similar results. Great luck with the Toyo's in the snow, but the Mickey's I have on it now completely suck in deep snow but pretty smooth rolling down highway. Truck pulls great always. I Pull bobcats all summer and 27' enclosed all winter and this truck just won't die! Knock on wood!
