beyond stupid! next they'll turn it sideways so it looks like every stupes working at our local grocery. to say it's gay is mean to the gay folks.

I forgot about those stupid looking helmets! I still don't understand why Blaze was in there while Frisby wasn't? The lack of entries was pretty lame. I thought the same thing as others that they were rushing the other riders so Levi could jump. His trick was awesome and it kept me glued to the TV. I didn't think he'd even do as well as he did. The flat stock steel plates bolted to his track looked like a complete after thought. So did the pathetic attempt to soften up his landing ramp with plastic scoops. I was just hoping he'd come out of it without breaking his neck or back. I give him credit to not go again while the crowd was chanting "One more time!" Once more time!". I bet his body siezed up once the adrenaline wore off and he settled in for the night. That was a hard hit! I kept watching it in slow-mo on my DVR.

I liked the idea of the next trick format, but not the way it ended up being televised. I thought they spent way too much time on super pipe competition.

I noticed a couple shots of guys wearing your goggles in the races and I believe one of the freestyler's was wearing a pair too!

Gawd, when I saw those ridiculous helmets I thought NO WAY. I don't care if that becomes the next best thing.
I WILL NOT wear something that stupid on MY noggin.

I added an hour to the DVR programming so I don't miss the last 5 minutes like last night.
I was ready to throw the Dam remote and I don't really care much for freestyle.

on the flip. sticking that landing is not going to be easy. It's NO foam pit. The only time my sled is upside down it always ends up badly.. All those guys are great at it. Fun to watch but I'm into racing.

he is a typical redneck who always steps up in the backcountry with broken bones or other injuries.....i lived in wasilla for 4 years and ran across him a few times, hellava guy and never sold out to corprate BS.....although he should and would be in a much better position maybe. Nonetheless, folks in AK hold him to the highest respect. Watch some older turnagain hardcore and slednecks movies..hes the guy throwing it down the biggest

also, i did jump on the ball cap helmet thing a bit as the message of a lost fellow THC rider was pasted to the helmet, that is the real reason dane held that goofy helmet high.....he supports his fellow riders and enjoys the sport more then most

Yea, it's really pathetic how much they focus on Levi. Don't get me wrong, he's a class act and helluva rider. But when a guy beats the field by almost a minute, don't show the guy who got fourth. Give 1-2-3 the credit they deserve. Same with speed and style. Parsons wins and they talk down about his run and focus the camera on Levi. So far it's been Levi, Levi, Levi. Time for ESPN to focus on the riders who win/do the best in each event.

Sounds like a little animosity is brewing in the freestyle camp. Here's a quote from ESPN...

At a Freestyle riders' meeting prior to the Freestyle and Next Trick practice sessions, a number of riders voiced their displeasure with the timed nature of the Freestyle contest. "I don't want it to come down like last year when Levi got two more jumps because he's faster," said Frisby. "Because that's got nothing to do with freestyle." Ferguson added, "Especially when my wife can do those two tricks!"

Sport Organizer, Joe Duncan said the rules are the rules. For now runs are 90 seconds each but that may be reconsidered for next year. Ferguson noted that at Sweden X last spring organizers scrapped plans for timed runs like WX and instead defined a run as 12 hits with the first and last hits counting double. "And they only did that because they knew Levi was coming," he said. "And nothing against Levi, but we're not all racers."

"It should be about style, not speed," said Frisby. "Otherwise it's bulls**t."
