Lets see those zx's!

zx moddy

Sorry guys, I can't get the pictures to load, but I'll give you the rundown!:D

01' Summit X HMK 800, skid set-back to 162, reversed Attack 20 with screws, Avid 9" 2 wheel kit, Wahle Bros. 3" 7 tooth drivers, custom tunnel, tubular running boards, pilot 6.9 skis, holeshot skidplate that gets its use, Fly 8" risers, custom seat, 19/47 gearing. The motor was ported and polished by a buddy, RKT piston only kit, thick basegasket, cut head, Boyesen reeds, ceramic coated pipe and y-pipe, ceramic coated "Thing" can.

Overall, one of the funnest sleds I have ever ridden! It beats the crap out of me going down the trail, but dang it! she just won't die! Poor girl does some wicked tree riding, that is up the trees, down then, and sometimes through them!:eek::D

Kinda thinking I'll wait a couple more years, Fabcraft tunnel, and a turbo 1200 4-tec motor would make a wicked sled, well, maybe a turbo triple? hmmmm.......:light::beer;

Some more from last week in BigHorns

Nice sleds ... looks like your missing a ski stopper on the Frankie built ( I forget the name of the shop ) sled. I bet it gets on top of the snow real nice. Oh I remember, its a Racer X .

Yah, noticed that ski flopping around on R-X, both stoppers are on, need to try some different ones. Wish I could get a hold of one of those guys that built those sleds, just had a new stator installed(one in sled was a 99 Mach Z ignition) and it acted up and lost spark. From looks of the #'s on the Digatron tach, I'm guessing stator is toast. Sled ran great for a day and a half then kaput. Have issues with the steering, not much right turn, need to order some longer steering rods so I can adjust steering straight, probably won't cure no right turn.
I talked to the other partner, forget the name, he didn't want to talk about the sleds much, probably didn't want to get hit up for parts or something.

Sled really worked well before it died, getting tired of trying to find a competent tech to cure its ills.:face-icon-small-fro

What track is everyone riding with and where can I get a 2 wheel kit? My finger track sucks especially since the guy drove screws in it.

Interesting post, sweat looking ZX! Make me think about keeping my "old" 08 Summit X 154 for a while and just adding some stuff over the year. do some of you run the original engine w/o rebuilt for all theses years or everyboby (stockers) had the engine rebuilt?

doo man i have a 02 zx with a 780 tripple jaws pipes i run a modified ck3 air box off a 98 mach z and vents in hood for more intake air i could proabbly get pics if you want thanks dan

Had one but sold it to a friend for my 07 rev. It has a boss seat, powderlites front and rear skid, kinetic drop and roll, simmons skis, moved rear suspension down and back to match 02 specs, rox riser, snow bungie left throttle, mountain fit lightweight hood, team clutch, 162x2.5x16 camo extreme and oh yea the Lembke 996 @ 185hp:D:D:D. The thing flys, and loves the deep powder.

Old ZX full mod by Mountain Magic

My old ZX, several sleds ago, damn that thing was fun. Pics are from when I listed it for sale (it was sold pretty quick). Had about 5 years of heavy mtn use on it (at least 30 days of riding per season). Only maintenance was to shine it up after every trip and repaint pipes once in awhile (and the yearly regular stuff), gotta love powdercoating to keep it looking good, "everything wipes right off" hahaha. Kind of miss it, but my back does not.

Well mine was not as fancy as some of what I have seen. Wow some of your sleds look awesome. I had a 2003 800 Renegade that I stretched out to a 151". Bought a 06 Rev X 151" and sold the ZX this year. I tell you the ZX I was so used to riding and carving it was easy. Don't get me wrong I do like the Rev but it will take a little bit of riding to get used to. Only got to ride the newer sled like twice (the first time was for a week out west). On the ZX made the tunnel extension myself, some bar risers, hand guards, and a can. That was it. Sled ran strong all the time.
