Her point:

Recently large demonstrations have taken place

across the country protesting the fact that Congress

is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.



Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover

me in your house, you insist that I leave.

But I say, 'No! I like it here. It's better than my house. I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters:

You are Required to let me stay in your house

You are Required to feed me

You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan

You are Required to Educate my kids

You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family

(my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.



It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house And what a deal it is for me!!!

I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold,

uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.

Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can

communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America

And Deaner, have you noticed that our traditional honorable native americans don't seem to want any of the land back that hasn't greatly increased in value (by someone elses hardwork) or in prime locations. Are you serious? You dont see a difference between then and now. We have laws, a social infastructure, an economy that could fail if illegal immigration continues. I dont think the majority of us would deny anyone the privilage to come to this great country, just do it the right way.

I like your post and the way it was written by the original author.Giving it a persons home view makes it a lot easier for more people to understand what the illegals are doing to us.Here in ski country Colorado my local government bends over back wards to provide services to the illegals(free health care clinic,emergency food assistance,free public transportation)Why would one want to leave when so much is provided for you.
You don't need to have insurance on your car or valid plates either if you are illegal.Buy a car with plates that are still good and run it till they expire.What's the worst that could happen to you,a couple tickets you'll never pay? I know this from personal experience having been hit by an uninsured amigo.No license,no insurance,plates came with the car he bought from a friend.Sure they impounded his car for no insurance but it wasn't worth much anyways.

I definitely agree that the issue is much more complex than it was a couple hundred years ago. I was just pointing out the fact that it is not as one dimensional as people tend to see it. Whos country is it? Are tenth generation citizens "more" american than 2nd generation?

I am from Canada so our immigration situation is slightly different from the USA. I dont think we have as many illegals sneaking into the country, but I dont agree with the way that new Canadians are given special treatment. (eg. tax breaks, special treatment in regards to ethnic and religious beliefs, etc.) I think that the majority of people that come here are just trying to create a better life for themselves and their families, and I think they deserve that right. However, I think there is a lack of respect for the existing laws and traditions. Every person has the right to express themselves as they wish, and that is one of the things that make our countries so great. What I dont agree with however is when our traditions, laws, and beliefs are altered for newcomers. I think they should be free to practice their own religions and have their own beliefs, but at the same time respect those of the people that have been here for many generations and have worked hard to make our countries the great places they are.

Well said deaner. I cant argue anything you said, except the part about immigration being different than the USA, and not having as many illegals sneaking into your country. Just wait.

State and local law enforcement is powerless when it comes to illegal immigration. State and local governments cannot enact laws for illegal immigration. Only the federal government can enact and enforce immigration laws. When a law enforcement officer stops an illegal alien for traffic violations, nine times out ten the illegal immigrants will not have an American drivers license nor a green card or a passport. They always have a mexican license or voter card. Most likely the vehicle they drive is registered to a different person. All that can be done is to collect bond for the violations of law, contact ICE, immigraton and customs (get told that they will not respond) and let the illegal aliens go.

Illegal Immigration is a very serious problem in this country. It is a far bigger problem than most people can even imagine or comprehend. I am all for any person that wants to come to this country and improve their lives as long as they do it legally. There are reasons that illegal aliens choose not to come to this country legally, and for that they are not welcome. If something is not done by the federal government soon, the consequences could be very catastrophic to our country.

There is a lot of construction going on in our area and Big Sky Mt. Consequently there are also many "Spanish people". A few things ive noticed while working around them are:

They pack up like wolves and on job sites they don't greet you with a smile, its more of a look of content.

Their workmanship is absolutely horrible 90% of the time...so bad that other trades suffer trying to work around framing that is not level, square, etc. or concrete foundations that are hacked in. Have personally seen a building get put up quickly and was so far off the general contractor had to bring in a crew to redo much of the work!!!(thats what they get for trying to save money and hiring the clowns IMO)

The money they make up here doesn't stay here...it gets sent back to Mexico where it can be used by their family to make their illegal crossing.

Armed robberies and rapes have been committed here by illegals and before they were here there was hardly ever a rape to be heard of in this area.

Saw an illegal pull a knife on a group of people in Big Sky a couple of nights ago...used to never see weapons get pulled in small town Montana!!!!

When on a job site the porta potty will stay useable until the big hispanic crews come on to the site and within one day they are so gross you wouldn't dare sit n **** in one!! Oh yeah and they litter their lunch garbage all over like their still in Mexico...no appreciation to the beauty of Montana.

They seem to have no desire to learn english but would rather use the strength in numbers they now possess to get us to learn their language.

If they are such hardworking honest people, how come the country they come from is a massive ****hole and horribly corrupt??

Don't even come here thinking you will get a job in concrete or masonry the wages have been driven down so low that its not worth your time.

Several fatal car accidents in our area involving illegals (they don't drive well in the snow obviously) A couple of locals would still be alive if the illegals would have stayed home!!

Ok I'm done...thanks for letting me vent...I just hope others see how bad this whole thing is getting and get on the band wagon to end it!!! Before long losing the forests to ride in will be second to losing our country altogether!!!

i live in illinois. work for a paving company with at least 90% of the labors and opperators being mexican. this is a union company so most are paid very well. majority dont speak english or it is very broken. try finding out what is wrong with a truck or piece of equiptment, its a joke. most of these people have been in this country for 10- 20 years learn the F-ING language. all are legal. but none that i know of come over legeally. majority go back to the home land in the winter. they should stay there if its so great. dont have a problem if its done correctly papers before you sneak over and learn the language. might be able to stop some of them from sneaking over with a big fence, and also giving the people on the U.S. living on the border the ok to hane some target practice. i think word would make it back home that jose did not make it.
