Let's hear from the 600 RMK guy's & gals!

i just got back from McCall all i can say is that sled rocks it was right with my friends d800 ..............i did notice in the real fluff it did loose a bit but after rideing my friends 800 i think its the track that new track is the shizz......................i guess i shouldn't have called it a fat chick it got even up above goose lake about 400 feet from the top she track caught something under the snow and she piched me into a tree caught a branch with my shoulder jerked me off the sled and it stoped on another tree......

M Rev my neighbor has a mill we did it. Steve at lindsay machine could do it for ya.

i think i might just keep it the way it is for the rest of the season and get the BMP head over the summer. we'll see though, the xp is starting to get a little more attention:eek:

An 800 Dragon is only 3 lbs heavier than a 600 RMK according to Polaris.

What is it about the 600 that makes it any easier to ride than the bigger sleds? I could see the advantage if it was lighter, but looking at the 155's, all the 600/700/800 are within a few pounds of each other.

Aren't these all the same basic chassis & engine block with just different shocks, displacement & clutching for different models?

I'm not pissing on the 600's. Just really trying to understand some of the comments here on how they're so much easier to ride, sidehill, flick around, etc.

Its not 6lbs heavier than mine:D I am joe average Im 5'9" 155lbs. The power to weight on mine is incredible. BALANCE is spot on. Now if I can figure out why mine keeps detonating Ill be great.

I"ll bet the "real" weight is much diff. too.

Just the age old misconception that it is lighter because it is smaller displacement. You are right, they are all in the exact same chassis and wieght differences are minimal. Normally you don't feel that extra power boondocking. Put them head to head on a steep climb and the power will be obvious. My buddies '07 600 155 has it all over my old 800 edge in the pow. Point them uphill and he just sits and watches the 800 stomp him. The feel of the 600 vs the d7 and d8 should be very very similar.

I think it is the power to weight ratio and the acceleration is similar to the road vehicles I drive.

Because of the common feel there is more confidence when I ride a 600 vs. a larger sled.

Even though I know my large sled can work circles around it in powder but the 600 is highly manageable.

I dont think anybody buys a 600 to himark? I'll give ya a run in 200 yds or so though...Yea I run outa top end before the big bores do. I'll still bet ya a 800 cc monoblock weighs alot more than 6 lbs more than a 600 small block?

I've got an 07 600 RMK 155 and love the way it rides and handles. It's a dream to ride.

My wife has an 08 700 RMK 155, essentially the same sled with a bigger motor, yet it feels like a totally different sled when I ride it.

You had to be the first didnt you??? Been there done that. Wanted something a little more challenging....... Anyone can pull the trigger on an 800!;)

I like my RMK 6XX - good balanced sled.

I'm going to try out the M6 this coming weekend to see how I like it. I'm sure it will be a blast. If its as good as the RMK, i will be happy.

Would you have expected anything different from me? ;)

I can do better..... Ski-Doo safari, Polarsi TX and TXL, Yammi SRV/SRX/V-MAX Another Ski Doo Mod Fan, Should I quit now????

Ive alway's liked the Small Bore sleds.

Glad to be back in the sport!!:beer;

I always still have to bust trails for my buddies and their 7-800's. :) Next winter I'll upgrade to CFI, maybe 700.

144 or 155

How much of a difference do the two track lengths make.
Im new to sledding and I want the most versatile track length.
Im in the mountains of BC, will a 144 be long enough to play in the powder. I wont be into much hill climbing for the first season (I think).

It is the reason I own 2 of them, pretty much bulletproof and quick. I has more balls than I do, lol. My boys absolutely love the '07, I gotta get some pic's of them riding it when it warms up a bit.

I bought an 07 RMK 600 144" carb model for the wife (for me really) and love it. It won't go were my 800 Dragon 163" will but is much easier to ride. I think the biggest difference is lower amount of torque which makes it so much easier to pull over on it's side. The Dragon is a much more focused mountain sled, were as the 600 is more fun all around. If we go out ditch riding around home I'll take the 600 any day.
