Legalizing Pot

I will disagree:confused:

If pot becomes common like alcohol, it will start showing up as a big contributer to accidents and other issues. Be honest and compare the number of drinkers you know to the tokers. If it is legal and readily available, (7-11) the user number will grow quickly. I know that you cannot operate a car effectively while stoned. I don't think anyone 'experienced' can argue that. Your reaction time is not there.

As for the wasted money on enforcement, I tend to agree. There are more serious issues out there, but legalizing things to save money is not a slope I am willing to go down. My personal right wing wacko opinion.

WRONG________IF YOU ONLY NEW!!!!!!!:D:eek::cool::beer;

Sorry, you're just wrong. From one right wing wacko to another..

Not going to keep arguing, but I DO KNOW:) that I was not a safe driver during some of my college years.:( Things were just to relaxed and carefree.

Legalize it if you want. I would prefer prosititution to be legal so we could tax it and ensure the quality is higher.:)

I second legalized prostitution!:face-icon-small-hap Oldest profession in the world.
In fact I am for legal everything! As long as your not harming/hurting anyone. If you want to be stupid and o.d. on meth, coke, heroin, or anything else thats you and your families business. Sad and unfortunate as it may be...:(
This is a "free" country after all:rolleyes:
Tax the crap out of it. :D Give all the proceeds to schools, transportation, and the grooming fund.
Then the Kenyan government(oops, i mean U.S.);) can claw its way out of the hole it dug itself into, very stupidly.
The government has no business involving itself in the personal lives of its adult, tax paying, voting citizens. Unless they are a harm to others. imo

But, I actually agree with Snowlover in a sense..
Driving a vehicle on a public roadway is a Seriously Big Responsibility!
When you are under the influence of ANYTHING you are literally taking other innocent peoples lives into your own stupid hands!
As a fellow human being and a parent, I think this is very, very selfish because you give innocent peeps no control, or say so, over their own life/fate.
No matter what the substance, you should only get one chance.
After that, suspension for life, period. Take the bus.

Multiple studies have show that using a cell phone while driving is as dangerous if not more so than drinking and driving. SO I am sure all you responsible adults never do that. ;)

To be more clear, the costs associtated with drug/alcohol mis-use is a bigger issue to me. How many innocent victims are there every day from mis-use?

You may not like having your freedom of drinking/toking infringed upon, but the cost of damage done by those under any influence is staggering. From even littering to spouse abuse to vehicle homicide, to murder. The largest pre-dominant underlying aspect is "under the influence", impaired judgement.

I quite drinking mainly because I was only doing it lessen my inhabitions. I was a binge drinker, only to lessen my judgement so I could be cool and do stupid things. Being under the influence of any item is dangerous to my life because I tend to have a very hard time breaking bad habits.

Now you know way more about me than anyone should disclose on Al Gores information highway.

Drugs, Alcohol and free love is a great idea, but not on the highway or while on a motorized vehichle.

What you guy's fail to realize it doesn't matter legal or not it will always be used ! Snolover the only victim from every day misuse of pot will be an Entenmens cake and a bag of chips ! If were so worried about people driving cars while "stoned" let's bann alcohol and see how many people still find a way to get it and after that take a look at the loss of revenue to the federal government by the loss of alcohol sales. My opinion legalize it tax it and sell it like cigeretts to people 21 and older. There was a comment earlier about being more people than you think that smoke that is very true i've meet more people that would look at and say they don't smoke but they do !

Snowlover, you make some great points. I think though, in most of your arguments, is not the problem more the person, then the thing they are addicted too? It seems to me it is more of a personality issue / disorder.

Some people become addicts easily, some don't, some it doesn't even effect them like that.

replace grass with, over the counter drugs, with alcohol, with prescription medicines, with..... The common denominator seems to be the people.

FWIW...
