Leg Breakers or Support in Footwells? Remove or Retain them?

I like them as well, but I'm only around 150-160 lbs with gear. I'm 15, but when my 05 M7 was my dad's he let one of his friends ride it once. This guy wore huge steel toed boots and he pulled this huge climb. Anyway, I guess on the way down, something went wrong and he fell off the side. His foot got caught in between the bar and the footwell, the sled dragged him all the way down the mountain and he was wearing an open face helmet. His face got completely ripped up by a 156" x 2.5" Challenger Extreme. I think with big enough boots/feet, these things can be a problem. Just a story that I thought went with this thread pretty well.

Thanks, I too have heard those stories and being kind of new to Cats. I wondered if long time Cat riders just knew to remove them. Thanks again for the story.

Geesh. I guess I should have known there wouldn't be an easy answer.

Do not remove them

The only reason they changed them was in 07 was to put the revers in. I like the older ones better because I wear the toes out of my boots on the new ones. They are big enough that her foot should not get stuck in them. I have only had mine catch in one and that was a 04 kk twisted my ankle bad. BD-Xtreme has a kit to change the new one and make them like 05-06 but you need to keep the support or your side panels will never stay on.
