Left Handed Throttle

Ok guy so I have read all the horror stories about left handed throttle but after getting pitched off and rolling my sled last weekend I have decided that there is a time and place for them so now I need your help. I have narrowed it down to two brands the full-throttle goldfinger and the gravity worx left handed throttle but now I need some feed back on what you guys have seen and experienced good or bad thanks a lot guys you all rock.

sno-bunje, Unhook it when you are not riding.... grabbed it instead of the brake one time loading it on the 2 place.. ..!!! Had the gold finger, didn't like it. Too short of lever with gloves on.. My .02.

A buddy in our group has one for sale after rear-ending my sled and getting tossed over the hood, I don't know what brand it is, but he'd let it go cheap.
That is the second time I've been rear-ended due to a lefty.

If you want it, let me know I'll find out what brand it is and the price.

I use the Goldfinger, got one on my Dragon and just put one on my M8. I like to turn my left throttle around so I use it with my thumb, like the right throttle. It does not, "turn out good" to grab a handfull of left hand throttle when you want the brakes. I leave the pin in most of the time, but it is there if I get into a tricky situation.

Hey there richblazer hows it going. I use to live in Havre back in the early 80's working for Big Bud Tractor untill we all got layed off. Im out hear in Washington maching airplane parts for Boing now. I hear you got some good snow. My home town is Loma, Mt. Wish it would happen out hear. I to have the GoldFinger. I wish the lever was longer. I have also grabed the brake lever when going for the left throtle at times. My lever is staight down. I only use it when im leaning to the left.

Goldfinger works good-just make sure it's rotated down 180+ degrees. Then you won't grab it instead of the brake.

I second the sno bunji 3 of us are running them on our 9's and love them. good quality and simple to unhook.

and i have never grabed min instead of the brake. but it is pointing straight down if not slightly back really hard to grab it on accident.

Great thread. I too have been wondering if I would someday accidentally Pastrana the truck. But like Ron, I've got mine turned slightly back from straight down. Normally that puts it underneath (outside) of the thumb, about the only way to grab it is hanging off the side. Usually riding with the pin IN also. (goldfinger)

Mountain Bar Throttle

I currently have a gold finger on my D7 turbo and have on two seperate occasions all most wrecked it loading in into the enclosed trailer by grabbing it instead of the brake. The gold finger iis turned down 180 degrees. The safety pin vibrated out during the first ride with it on so it is not that good of a safety feature.

I have seen that some one makes and or sells a handle bar or mountain bar throttle. The extension goes to the left side base of the mountain bar and you simply pull up on the cable when your holding onto the mountain bar. Unfortunately I can not remember where to buy one? If any one knows where to get one and how they work please let me know. I will also be selling my gold finger if anyone is interested.

I have goldfingers on both of my sleds and I love them. But you do have to watch out have grabbed a hand full of no brake once! I pay alot more attention now.

I believe you are referring to CMX they use that style on their sleds.

Snobunje is the best. Best setup, longest lasting, can unhook. All the others just use an aluminum tab and can bend, I have had snobunje and the dirt harry. Snobunje is by far the best.

I have the gravity worx billet lefty on my 09 D8 163. I love it! May I offer a word of advise.... Do not let your buddy ride your sled.. I let one of my buddies ride mine long story short he grabbed the lefty instead of the brake going down hill. Wrecked my baby in the creek in the bottom of the canyon.. Totally busted up my sled! From that day forward NO BODY TOUCHES MY SLED!!!
