Latest WINTER FORECAST from NOAA for DEC-FEB 2016 !

Doesn't look good for the Pac. Northwest or B.C. South Coast...Pretty discouraging considering last year was the worst I've ever seen. Looks like a travelling season I guess. The wife will be thrilled when I tell her I'm going to Alaska for a week!!!

I wouldn't bother. Our last two winters were horrible. I wouldn't count on cold air from Alaska helping anyone else either, it's currently 45 degrees here and no colder temps in the ten day forecast.

That would be FABULOUS NEWS!!

Here are the ingredients:possibility of a decent storm, sometime between next Wednesday and Halloween 28-31 OCT.

1.Typhoon Champi was located some 500Mi due south of Tokyo this morning
A. Over the next 5 days Champi will be totally extra tropical and merging with the westerly as it moves NE
2.A moderate trough will move off the Asian coast this Saturday AM and constructively phase with Champi over the following 24 hours building a strong ridge down stream on a longitude between the Dateline and the Hawaiian Islands.
3.That amplified trof deepens a new trof down stream over the East Pac tapping cold from the GOAK.
4.This eastern pacific trof entrains now Hurricane OLAF as a extra tropical storm which spins up the jet in the negative tilt trof’s SE quad. This builds an upper ridge over the pacific NW while the upper trof digs into California “”About”” next Thursday the 29th. This timing is subject to the scenario over the western pacific.
5.Climo wise, this will bring the possibility of our All Hallows eve storm, even through it may come a day or two sooner…..

Biggest storm to ever hit Mexico hitting this weekend 23-25 OCT

Winds to hit land at 200MPH gusting to 250MPH over 100 miles across and cutting across to Texas with winds still over 60 MPH . 20 foot plus water surge over 100 miles across to hit west coast of Mexico.

Then to TEXAS with 1/4 of the state getting 6-9 inches of rain in 48 hours

So some small pieces of this storm may make it to California , UTAH , Nevada , Colorado or New Mexico and do some rain and even snow up high.

So why do I bring this up ???? Cause all we need is one of the southern moist storms to be grabbed by a cold low pressure from the north and WHAMMO !!!! Massive dumpage !!!!

EL NINO has yet to DIRECTLY INTERACT / INFLUENCE THE JET STREAM AND THE COLD LOW PRESSURES FROM ALASKA.

Right now forecasters are looking at Typhoon Champi for such an EL NINO event .... hooking up with a low pressure cold front and dumping snow around 28-31 OCT somewhere on the west coast then inland.

Sure would be a nice way to kickstart the season!

Some of the weather forecasting seems very irresponsible, if they are wrong, 1 it will show that their science is junk and 2 they will have severely hurt the winter sports economy.

Lets hope they are wrong big time Jorli!
Would like nothing more than an EPIC winter for a change!
