Man, these last few weeks have been so busy for me, I havent been up sledding or have made an edit in forever :( Where is normally the last place we are able to sled around here? Bear Paw? I'd love to be able to truck it up to where ever the snow line is in July and still make some edits.

Bearpaw or Baker, July, not this year mid June maybe. Don't give up hope, I've ridden Baker on July 21st before, but that was a record year for snowfall.

August 1st is my latest ride.
September 30th is my earliest.

So, yes I have ridden all 12 months!

An August ride will not happen every yr. But June is good and July 4th is still good most years.

Brohm ridge snowmobile club(BTSC.com) in Squamish, BC, is 30 mins south of Whistler and they are having a summer solstice snowmobile ride on June 21. Yes, there will be snow.
Come on up!

Doesn't Baker shut down at the end of May?

The forest service closes Baker when the snow depth at the meadows drops to 2'. So as long as there's at least 2 feet we can still ride there.
Most years I can usually get at least one ride in June, sometimes 4th of July if it's a really good snow year!

Do they close the whole area, or just access via the meadows?

I'd like to thank everyone who has already put their sleds away and given up for the year, leaves more of the good stuff for me!!!

It's always amazing how people give up on sledding when there are blues skies and carve-able snow...

I mean who in the hell in their right mind would rather go golfing than sledding?!?!?!?

"Snowmobiles must have a 24-inch base of snow before riding off-road within the Mt. Baker National Recreation Area to avoid resource damage."

Interesting that it doesn't state "where" the 24 inches of base has to be....... I know everyone says Schriebers (however thats spelt) but maybe if you can get up higher to where there is a 24" base then your okay?

Normally they measure it at the entrance to the meadows near the bridge.
