Late release?

So....I havn't payed much attention to Yamaha for a couple years, what is the scoop on a lighter, late release sled or something for next year?
I see they are doubling rebates and urging dealers to clear out their stock.....smells like a new chassis or ???

I hope so. I would love to have a new, lighter yammi chassis as a backup sled. Love the fourstroke motor, very torquey and reliable. At this point I'd sooner put up with the weight and the fat chick jokes and be able to ride instead of wrench. Ok, someone get the popcorn because I know someones going to have something to say about it. ;-)

Something is coming..............It'll surprise you.

I hope so. I've owned a lot of Yamaha products over the years and have been impressed with the quality of all of them. Would I like to see something that could actually compete with the 800 class when it comes to (stock)performance? Sure I would. But the current technology doesn't allow a fourstroke motor to be as light as a twostroke. At least that's cost effective. However, like I mentioned in my last post, I am willing to allow the sled to be heavier for it to be reliable. I know, I know, the cat motor has been a great motor. I'm not brand loyal in the least, I would own any of the big four. With that being said, yamaha has great fourstroke motors. Don't know of many people (any for that matter) that can't just go out and turn the key and go. I'm not the guy that needs to set the high mark. I'm a boondocker and that's what I love. And even though my Nytro was heavier, it didn't do a bad job.

That is one of the most confusing statements ever ;)

They do just fine......stock, 180'd, 240'd, 270'd, 310''d, 350'd, etc etc.
I'll ride any of them in the deepest of days.
Ride what you pride ;)
This was last weekend.......plenty deep.....and it was a Turbo kinda day.

Been hearing those exact words for years, I personally love my Apex, but weight is getting to me, next year will be on a different brand if nothing way lighter comes out. I dont need to be the highest on the hill, i like to get out and play, but when the Apex gets stuck, you gotta put on the big boy panties to get it out.

You'd be surprised by the weight difference between a Nytro engine and a big bore twin. Not much of a difference. Yamaha just makes everything else too heavy......and puts certain components in the wrong place....ie fuel tank, battery.... etc. They could build exactly what we want........but don't.

Sure would be nice to get into a position where they DID listen to our desires...

question

This is a bit off topic but not totally. Why does no one fit a boosted yamaha onto a xm or pro chassis. 400 hp dependable xm or pro would be kinda cool if your into that

Sleds

That is good info guys. I have never seen one. I did read about yamadoo once but I think that was back in the days of the 383 800 if I remember correctly.

You asked for a Apex-Pro...

That is what we have been building for the last year, Apex powered Pro's, and one with a Nytro engine as well., all Boosted, all with a Racer's Edge rear suspension c/w 174" x 3" x16".

A custom 4130 chromoly tube chassis with the reliable power of a Boosted Yamaha, wrapped up in Polaris Pro plastic.

Perhaps you need one under your tree this Christmas??

Ho Ho Ho & Merry Christmas
