KTM 690 enduro

I think timbersled makes a kit for the ktm 690. I've been thinking about one for an all around bike and also want to run it as a snowbike in the winter.

Does anyone have a snowbike using one of these and if so how well does it work compared to a smaller bike?

690

the timbersled guys had one set up last year, it looked really cool, but i think its gonna be kinda heavy for the really tight stuff. i think a 690 puts out maybe 10-12 more hp than a new 450, but weighs 60-70lbs more even with alot of stuff stripped off. ive toyed with the idea because i would love to have a 690 for a dual sport bike. right now ive got a trials bike, a 250 2t trailbike, and 450 motocross bike to run the mtn horse. it would be great to have one bike to do it all, but i dont think it exists. just my 2cents

690

So far I think the 690 Enduro is the bike that is the closest to being the all around, do anything bike. Im not sure how much tight stuff I'd be getting into but that would be a good thing to think about.

Also would that little extra power be enough to compinsate the extra wieght and not mess with the boondocking abilities of the bike. I was just looking at the 690 becase of what I read it holds up pretty good in the dirt and I'd be able to keep up with my friends 650 V-strom in the canyons where I live.

We had a 690 last winter. I put about 3000 miles on it in one winter. Never rode it on the dirt. It was a very easy going bike and handled good; it did everything a 530 would do and would out pull it up a hill at about 1 MPH faster. It did feel like it was about 35 lbs more weight but made up for it in comfort and engine torque. It would hall the mail down the roads and could leave every on behind. The only times that I had a hard time with it was in deep snow on very steep ground in bar banging tight trees. This is what we like to do so it had to go.
I recommend it 100% if you plan to use the bike for what it is made to do.

I have also been pointed in the direction of the Husaberg FS570 which is a street legal supermoto version of the FE570 with a little less travel in the suspension.(20mm less in front and 25mm less in rear)

690

My 690 LT kit arrives today !

Looking for tips with setting up the 690 like snow getting in places, recommended oil, tips with installing the track.

Eventually I'd like to enclose the engine to keep in heat.

Can't wait to get out there !

I have a '17 Ktm 690 Enduro, I am looking to convert to a snowbike. I don't know which Kit and install kit to buy? I was looking at a Timbersled (Mountain Horse ST 120) Could you help me out?

mountain horse or camso are good choice , you need to find a welding / fitter shop that will extend those track attachement points and custom fit the bushing

For the front many of the olds ktm use that same 26 mm shaft so for exemple à fit kit for a 2014 ktm xc 450 will be fine , it will bolt on with no problem

Last season i ran the 690 with a camso spindle/ski and explorer track

Now working on the installation of an TS aro 129

The 17+ 690/701s with the new motor would be my choice for a snow bike .... I have a 16' Husqvarna 701 and would way rather put a snow bike kit on a KTM 500 than it .... But, the new 690cc motor is rated at 75hp, which is like 10 more than the old ones ... And Rottweiler Performance is getting a bit more out of that motor reliabily with some intake, exhaust and tuning upgrades .... Might make for a pretty well rounded boondocking snow bike :)

KTM 690 Timbersled kit

What corner of the continent are you located? My bro has got an early (single-row bearing, airshocks) Timbersled 120 specifically for the 690, and no longer has the bike.

I have an aro 120 ktm kit id sell, I'm in Iowa. Won the kit in a Polaris sweepstakes, bought a ktm 690, car turned in front of me I hit a pole, I'm alive but not riding again as my left leg got pretty messed up

Front fit is the same as for a 2014 ktm 450 xc f
Track fit it a bit more complex ,
For a camso some cutting and welding will be required
For timbersled aro you will need a special adapter that can be made by a local machine shop or you can buy one from the machine shop I got it from
