Knee Braces

I am using the new Asterix knee braces and wear Klim boots. My problem is that the boots are not tall enough for the bottom of the brace to fit in to hold the brace from sliding down my leg. I wore knee braces years ago racing moto and of coarse the braces fit inside the top of the boot. What are you guys that where braces on your sled wearing for boots and knee brace combo to eliminate my issue. is there any taller boots worth a **** that are not big and bulky that keep your feet warm that the braces will fit in? Thanks

If you get the right size brace if shouldn't slide down at all, I have had braces that needed boots to hold them Up before but those were either cheap braces or the wrong size, once I got the perfect size brace I can use it for anything. This from Moto experience.

I have asterisks and Klim boots, and my buddy does too. We never have a prob with them sliding down our legs. Yours may not be a correct size. You could also try a thigh tall sock to make them fit a little tighter. It a wrap of duct tape after you put them on. I have seen a lot of dirt bike guys do that

I think there are only 2 or 3 sizes. They fit tight and have the Boa cable system so I can make them tight as hell. I where them over under armor, I think that may be why they slide down. I cant go without the under armor though because I just where the Klim Free ride pant. They are uninsulated. When I say slide down I talking maybe an inch or less after riding for a while. Its just a pain in the *** to drop my pants out there in 3-4 feet of fresh to pull the braces back up. Before these Braces I had both legs casted for custom braces. They fit perfect but also slid down a little.

There is a hockey tape I used to use to keep my knee pads up its clear and stretches if you wear a pant like the climb inferno pant and use that tape to hold the brace I bet you won't have the problem anymore.

stone I have the same braces and the same issue. I bought a couple of sets of the all stretch Klim suspenders and hooked them to the braces. I used a couple of zip ties around the thick plastic brace parts at the top and used the velcro straps on the suspenders to attach to the zip ties. At first I just pulled the suspenders up and looped them around the suspenders for my Free Ride pants(same as you also) but that was too much pulling on the one set of suspenders and and they would dig into my shoulders. Now I just loop them over my shoulders and crossed over my body. Left brace suspender on my right shoulder and vice versa. They stayed up pretty good just while riding without suspenders but walking in the snow and digging out they would slip down a little and just rub the skin on my legs right through. This has solved the issue for me. So comfortable I actually forget I am wearing them. I ditched the leg sock thing that came with them and just use under armor style long under wear(Nike Cold brand mostly).

Maybe wrap some ace bandage around leg above boot to fill in the gap!!
Oh,, by the way you ride like a little girl. Just because you stand up when you are going down the trail doesn't make you a boondocker :argue:

We tested Asterisk, EVS, and a couple other high end knee braces last year. The sizing can be part of the issue, but mainly it is the boot. Most of the high high end braces are actually meant to fasten to the tops of the moto boots. Just look at the designs fellas. The only part of the brace that has anything to keep the braces from wanting to slide down your leg in the buckle apparatus right above the thickest part in your calve, and just below the bend in the knee. Other than that the other three buckles all can be cinched super super tight but gravity pulls the braces down a smidge, and lets face it, our legs get smaller as the brace moves down which means the buckles that were super tight are now getting looser. Tape seemed to work best for us in the snow applications.

Blown Motor is right. The Asterisk has an adjustment on the boa where is tightens on top of your calf but I could never get it tight enough to stay up but not so tight it didn't hurt. When you tighten the boa that goes above the knee it just forces the brace down your leg. The also loosen up a little as you ride, I retighten them a couple times a day. The suspenders work awesome, just need to remember to put them over your shoulders before you get your coat and pack on, lol. Also, I wear the Klim Mammoth socks that are thick and go right to the knee. Gives a little padding on the lower leg.

Thanks guys, I was hoping there was a taller boot like a moto boot to solve my issue. I will just trial and error these ideas.

Jeff 95. The reason yours do not slide is because you sit every where you go. HAHA.

braces go against the skin. Just find a pair of long john that go over your braces. I use a mountain hardware one piece that fits over my braces on both knees.
