KMOD'S GEN II is the NEW "ROCKSTAR" of REAR SUSPENSIONS!

I don't really understand how the KMOD could shed any less snow then they Mt Tamer they look almost the same other the scissor vs slider. I understand that both would be better than a stock sled with torsion springs.

Also sounds like the kmod is more for turbo only sleds. What about the non turbo sled performance? I remember reading a article about Holz and he said that he setup his stuff for stock sleds because about 90% of all sleds in the snow park are stock to improved stock.

Seems to have been a fall out between you and TS. Doesnt or didnt your husband work for TS? This is all pretty clear. Your pissed at TS for some reason, you got a free K-mod and Z-broz front end, and now you promote them. It isnt rocket science. :face-icon-small-con

Budd is his name I think, have talked to him many times and seems like a really good guy, the first thing I thought when I read this was " I wonder what Budd thinks about this thread ?"

Bud is a heck of a good guy and really i don't think this has any thing to do with him.Mini started this thread and some questions were asked about it, the least she could do is give us some honest answers on THIS thread not some other one. I'm sure we will hear some answers soon though as i see she has been on here today.

I support my wife 100% in everything she does, period, no questions asked. For you people that require clarification here, I will do that for you right now, one time and one time only. Amber's weight in full gear is 135 pounds, her sled runs a 156 track length, her sled is extreamly powerful, with these combined factors I could not get the sled to handle the way Amber needed it to handle for her style and type of riding. Amber found a product and a set up that is working well for her now, we paid for the product, the only free thing on Amber's project sled was my labor to build it, thats it. She is excited about this, she is having a great time on her sled, and she wants to share this with who ever choose's to read about it on here. Thats the nice thing about the snowmobile after market, there is always something for every one. So thats it, there is no drama, I still work for Timbersled Products, and we are enjoying some good April riding conditions. Peace Out, Budd

Pretty much sums it up, have always impressed by Timbersleds products and customer service. Have always heard the same good things about Kevin at K-Mod also.

Cool, good to hear she has it figured out then. I also had a TS rear skid with a big turbo and could not get it to handle well. Glad all is still good for you at TS.

Great

I rode my stock thousand suspension 162' for a year and practically beat myself to death. I switched to a K-Mod Gen II, it's the best money i've ever spent. The ride is fantastic. The skis' stay on the snow so you can stay in control all the time under full throttle. Very impressed with Kevin's knowledge of the suspension, enough so to go buy another for my other sled. Possibly the greatest thing since peanut butter!

OK then..I need a new skid for my 163 800 turbo xp. I am 255 lbs without gear and a very aggressive rider.Climbs,jumps,boondocking,trails..everything.I like to ride to the handlebar...all the time. I was going to buy a TS this summer but now there is this new product. If the price is the same and the skids are virtually identical..which one do I buy? Anybody got any testimonials on either one of these skids on an xp?

Thanks

PS:When I started talking to people about new skids the Kmod was not even mentioned, actually,I've never heard of them, but I am glad I have now.

I spent most of the season trying to make a stockish M skid work for 14-20lbs.....oh i got it much better and she would finally stay down in the steep, but its far from optimal and a complete pile on any bumpy

As others have said, ive been on a few rides this year where someone else had the new KMOD......well, its simple really...

And this year was the first year i believe the fox shock can be better then a spring shock , be it double or triple rate

This skid can do all three:
- keep it down in the steep
- soak up the bumps
- transfer weight (this is a huge thing when running big boost as the sled will pop up and stay up if your rear is weak, or it will pop back fast if your rear is too stiff)

sidenote - i spoke with some folks involved with this skid change while it was getting done, transfer and keeping it down was the only topic of conversation......but the internet house wives will always read into something they dont know first hand, find some drama and run with it....its sad, but this is what some folks call "life"

TTT for KMOD!!! This skid is still proving itself to be INCREDIBLE! It was that KEY FACTOR that enabled me to enjoy the sleds full capabilities and compliment my Twisted Turbo's power!

Kevin, once again, THANK YOU so much for all your ADVICE & TAKING YOUR PERSONAL TIME (even during your dinner hours) to ENSURE that I got set up and dialed in with this new suspension!!!! I appreciate the service and I think other Snowesters should know how dedicated you truly are to each individual's satisfaction.

The reason many have not heard of Kevin or KMOD, is because he is a regular guy who happens to have a great aptitude of talent for this type of thing. Like the majority of us in the industry, he is starting out as a 'one man band' who happens to work that real "DAY' job so as to keep his true passion going and get his own business off the ground. Kevin's dedication and hard work deserves recognition, as to those several other individuals through out the industries history who also possessed this drive, dedication, & talent when they first started. They all held similar dedicated characteristics and very similar stories of starting out in a garage with a small Sears welder, and now operate multi-million dollar facilities! I wish everyone in the industry could succeed like this, think of what it would do for sledding industry as a whole!

For me personally, it is VERY rewarding to see the success of sponsors, friends, and other business individuals in the industry grow to greatness, and to have that honor to be part of their lives as it changes to achieve visions.

I plan on putting another KMOD application on my clinic sled this fall. This application is available in the $1000 or less price range. If you are interested in more details call Kevin at KMOD. I will be sharing those details and pictures down the road when I get ready to do the modification, as so to help inform those interested.

KMOD REAR SKID WORKS WELL ON STOCK CATS TOO!!

AFTER READING THESE POSTS I HAVE GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT SOME OF YOU OUT THERE THINK THAT THESE SKIDS ONLY WORK ON BIG HORSEPOWER SLEDS. THAT COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. I HAVE A 2010 SNO PRO CAT 800 THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BEG MY SON AND HIS FRIENDS TO RIDE INTO THE BIG COUNTRY BECAUSE WITH MY AGING BACK I SIMPLY COULD NOT STAND TO RIDE THE ILL HANDLING/ROUGH RIDING PIECE OF S**T ON THE STOCK CAT SUSPENSION. LET'S JUST SAY NOW I NO LONGER HAVE TO SUFFER THE EMBARASSMENT OF TRADING MY CAT FOR A PISS COLORED SKI-DOO JUST TO GET DOWN THE BUMPY TRAILS. IMO KEVIN SHOULD BE TRAVELING THE COUNTRY TEACHING THE OEMS AND MOST AFTERMARKET COMPANIES THE BASICS OF MOUNTAIN SLED SUSPENSION. MY CAT NOW SOAKS UP THE BUMPS LIKE A ROLL OF BOUNTY PAPER TOWELS AND FLOATS LIKE MOHAMMED ALI. K-MOD IS TRULY THE OZZY OSBOURNE OF SUSPENSION:) IMO:beer;

SERIOUSLY THOUGH, THIS CHANGED THIS SLED COMPLETELY AND MADE IT FUN TO RIDE IN ANY CONDITION.

IM A BELIEVER

After seeing the Title K-Mod the Rock Star of Rear Suspensions and reading the threads I had to weigh in on the subject. I purchased my first K-Mod rear suspension in January of this year. In the past I have been a Polaris rider but last year switched to the M8 with a BD pump gas turbo. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the handling of the Cat in the mountains the stock rear skid was like a buckboard compared to the Polaris skid I was used too. I found out about the K- Mod suspension and met with Kevin the owner. I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge of all suspensions. He had a working model in the shop and was able to show me how it worked and why it worked better than many of the other suspensions on the market. He questioned me about my riding style and weight and promised a set up that I would be happy with and boy did he deliver.
The first ride I went on required a bumpy trail ride to the mountain. A friend with the same sled but stock suspension and similar riding ability was left behind quickly. We swapped sleds and then I couldn't keep up. We were both blown away at the superior handling in the rough stuff. We were even more surprised when we we got in the deep stuff at the increased floatation. The sled got up on the snow quicker and trenched less while keeping the front end down for quick maneuverabilty. Steep climbs through the trees was definitely made easier.
I have let many people ride my sled since putting the suspension on and every single person has said they loved how it made the sled ride and handle over stock, especially with climbing and boon docking.
I rode 3 days this last week in Idaho and Wyoming and loved every minute of it thanks to the K-Mod rear skid. Thanks K-Mod

K Mod. it works
Good geometry design, I have rode it with stock sleds and modded sleds.

Don't like the other.

I have installed them, they have more travel which is nice for the bumps and rough stuff, so I tucked the skid into the tunnel more to keep the sled lower. The skid does its job and keeps front end down when set up the way you want.
