09 m8 Twisted Turbo 10 psi on straight Avgas, had adjusted on 4, minimum ski lift, climbing a steep chute sled almost flipped over backwards as reaching the top, had to let off gas- to avoid flipping over, running 155 psi, weigh 250 without gear, what pressure are you guys running on rear float , and your weight . I have #3 valving which I call fatboy - turbo valving

sorry, I didn't finish post

Got busy, forgot what I was doing. I thought it was strange that I had it cranked down as far as possible, but on this instance huge ski lift. Like how it was before I bought and installed Kmod. I wanted to compare float pressures and maybe some feedback on what others experience with theirs. it was first time out since install, but I really like the adjustability. when on 1 going down the trail it didn't seem overly cush compared to stock. But I haven't rode since last year memory could be foggy

Maybe the kmod made the chute seem so easy you underestimated the angle of it and no skid is gonna work when your going up a 90 degree incline?? Lol

My 13 will probably be a bit different but I'm running my limiters as tight as I can without overlapping. And it's perfect front float around 105 right now going to go down to about 95 and rear is about 150. When on the trail on #4 you can feel the skis pushing into the ground.

At first I was having the same problem as you. Seemed fine until I climbed and it wanted to flip over on # 4 too. One hole tighter on the limiter and it's a totally different ride.

Oh and I'm about 225 with gear. Your front shock will be the one you want to adjust for ski lift not the rear. Correct me of I'm wrong but more pressure more ski lift. Less pressure less ski lift?

Can't wait to rip on the new cutler turbo!

I PM'ed Kevin- his response- not enough pressure

He recommended I crank the pressure up to 175 psi. I have one of those crappy a/c hand pumps- can you use an air compressor or will it pop a seal.
what do you guys recommend for an inexpensive solution to hand pump a measurable 150 -200 psi

My kmod skid came with a 0-300 psi pump.

kmod conversion

Kevin also mentioned to take all of the weight off the skid when checking pressure, which I didn't do, I also had a 2.5 gallon fuel cell on it.

I have used a BIG air compressor on my mountain bike rear shock before and it didnt hurt it at all, its a super small fox float.

Just get raptors and be done with it, I hated the floats when I had them on mine when it was stock.

I would say put the handle bars down.

If #4 means fully coupled, your way off somewhere.

I ran mine on the loosest setting but had the right pressures with front all the way out. It would stand up once in a while but never come over, even when up it was controlled unlike the stock skid.

I set the pressure by lifting the back of the tunnel, I set mine so if I pushed down on it and let off it would return almost to the top or within a 1/2".

Dont confuse an entry level kmod conversion kit with a full on kmod skid, the performance level between each kit is substantualy different

I don't know who this is directed at Budd???, but just to be clear, I've ran both and I'm referring to the conversion, apples to apples.

Usually when I hear this kind of thing its because the bars are 10ft in the air instead of all the way down where they should be.

Is the conversion with the Raptor shock package as good or close to a full skid? If not what causes the full skid to work so much better? Thanks.

Bars are topped out

with the new quick coupling block there are number 1, 2,3,4, #4 is fully coupled. #1 is suppose to be cadillac -cush ride. My sled used to be a wheelie monster, it still is while set at 1, set at 1 for the bumpy trail ride up the mtn. then can adjust to like 3 or 4 to climb the steep stuff.
the fix is this take weight off the skid, add air pressure to rear float to around 155-175 psi. Kevin mentioned with weight and gas on the skid, I probably only have around 130 psi in the float. when i first rode it, it was bottoming out. I set it to 150 psi at about 50 degrees farenheit, then adjusted pressure to 155 psi at 25 degrees farenheit. Worthless A/C pump is unreadable beyond 150 psi.

Got a cure for the A/C pump. RAPTOR SHOCKS. You will no longer have to look like you are wacking your sled. Turn the clickers like you adjust the 4 position K MOD. easy-peasy.

Raptors Rock

Yes I get it but I spent all my xtra $$$'s on the Kmod, no $$$ for Raptors, hopefully next year . gotta make the best out of what I got.

OH, I hear you. Took me two years for the K MOD skid and Raptor shocks all around. I hated the fox shock on the stock skid. It is a big differance though with Raptors.
Don't expect the Raptors to solve all your problems. They make the K MOD better like the K MOD is better then the stock suspension. They work together with easy adjustments on both. You have a lot of power and when you get the traction and turn the track 50- 60 MPH it will lift the skis. That is why the Hot Shots in the movies are always letting off the throuttle when climbing those chutes.
If you throw money at it---It is always better.

doesnt matter if you use an air compressor. 150 psi is 150 psi. the shock isnt going to get any higher psi than the compressor.
