KLIM... my story

I posted the following in the product review section, but I thought it might also work here.

It’s always easy to bitch about a failed product or a company that just doesn’t seem to care. Well I want to pass on just the opposite.

2 or 3 years ago I bought a pair of KLIM Adrenaline GTX snow mobile boots. I liked the ankle support and grippie sole. They have been good boots, with one exception. They have always leaked a little in the big toe area where the Gortex is mated with the rubber boot toe. It usually wasn’t a problem because the snow usually is cold and not wet. On wetter spring days my feet would get rather damp.

I was in West Yellowstone at the Expo last March and visited the KLIM booth. If you were at last years Expo you know it was a wet slushy mess! In the KLIM booth, they had a pair of their boots in a fish tank. I asked the nice booth lady if the boot model I had on should also be water proof, she said absolutely. I told here mine had always leaked some, and I knew they were no longer covered by a warranty. She told me to send them the boots because they always want to understand problems if they occur.

A couple of weeks ago I sent them my boots. Within a couple of days I got a call from KLIM customer service indicating that my boots were clearly defective and they were sending me a new pair, at no charge!!

A couple of days later, I got them. I have to say I’m VERY pleased with KLIM. I already own their bibs, jacket, gloves and some other clothing and when ever someone asks me about their products, I always say.. “you get what you pay for, so buy the best and only buy it once”.

I now have more to add to a question about KLIM products and now their excellent customer service.

Guys... bottom line, this company really does care about having happy customers!

Thank you KLIM.... let it snow!!

I also had great results with Klim's warranty and repair on my bibs this summer. Great company and easy to get a hold of them.

had the same problem, called klim told them my boots were 2 years old leaked, the soles were pretty chewed up from the running boards, the gal said i would have to send them in to be evaluated to deturmen if there was warrenty or not so i just wrode with wet feet last year

had 2 experiences with klim warentey.

i was beyond pleased with the end resolution .. no other company of any industry matches their dedication to a happy customer imo

I had the same great experience when they sent me a new pair of gloves last month when my 3.5 year old gloves had the stitching coming undone. A great company to deal with

I had Togwotee bibs from 2005 or so, regardless it was whatever the first year the Togwotee's came out. I sent them in this past season as I wanted to get the tears taken care of. Figured have them fixed right and they will last a few more years.

Get this, Klim called and said they inspected them and noted a defect from manufacturing in the gore tex and they would replace them free of charge. They even told me a few dealers with some different sizes I could go to and try on before ordering the replacements.

What a company! I will support them whenever I can. While they aren't affraid to charge a bit of a premium for their product, it does what it's stated to do and their customer service is something for a lot of companies to strive to.

They are a great company to deal with. Just this last season I purchased a new Valdez jacket and wore it one time before heading to Alaska on a sledding trip. First day of riding, I get back to the truck and discover the zipper is toast, WTF!!!!

Thank God, we were staying with a relative that had an extra HMK jacket to wear for the rest of the trip.

Get back home, called Klim and filled them in and vented a little on how my brand new jacket failed me on one of my biggest trips. They were very apologetic and the jacket was fixed without issues. For the extra trouble they also gave me a 25% off coupon for my next purchase with them.

All in all I was disappointed when it happened but I guess chit happens and they did take care of me, without question. I guess bottom line, everything can fail at some point but as long as the manufacturer stands behind their stuff, it's all good in the end and Klim continually proves this over and over.

Just had the same experience as well. I had some rips in my Klim Togwotee bibs and i sent them in to have them fixed up. I had like 3 pretty small rips, one was about the size of a 50 cent piece and the others were all smaller than a dime. I got a call about a week later and it was going to cost me about $150 to fix all the tears and she said the gore-tex was deffective and they would fix that under warranty. So i decided to only fix two of the rips for $100 which i was ok with. Well today she called me back up and said they did some more testing on the bibs and they were leaking and were not up to standard. She informed me that i would be recieving a brand new pair of bibs. I was pretty happy to hear this. And you can bet when it comes time to buying new gear ill look to Klim first!
