KLIM increasing product line by 32% for Fall 2010.

I hope they keep to their roots and stay with quality over quantity. I hope Klim see's this thread!!!
Given the new competition they are facing in the marketplace I can't imagine they would lower their quality at time like this. The "Fist" would be merciless if they did.

Exactly! Hopefully quality competition keeps them on their toes.

I thought that was strange too when I bought my XL Klim Valdez jacket 4 years ago. I'm 6'3" and depend on tall sizes, mostly due to arm length, but a little extra core coverage never hurts. I've also heard that the durability of the newer gear isn't the same...can anyone confirm this? I justified the original bibs/jacket cost based on longevity and functionality. I hope they keep to their roots and stay with quality over quantity. I hope Klim see's this thread!!!

I'm 6'8" and the arms are fine but the core of the coat is awfully short.

If they decide to go that route I would in favor of it.
I HATE lacing up my adrenaline boots.

I seem to remeber some failures being reported when they were used on the HMK boot? I think that was HMK that used it on their boots?

I am sure the system has been refined since then....seems like they even have different cable thicknesses available now.

I personally have no problems tying up, and don't see the need for this on my snowmobiling boots. Its not like my boots have to be strapped on that tight like a snowboard or ski boot.

HMK is the ones currently using the boa system on some of their boots. Think the cable issue was in the beginning and has been resolved. I've never really has a problem with tieing my laces, but I'm going to give the HMK pro boa focus's a try next season and see how I like them.

From the snowboarders I have talked to, the BOA system can be a pain when they fail. It isn't as simple as tying a not, or finding something to use as a lace.. They might have been older versions though..

Keep It Simple Stupid.... words to live by..

Given that they are using what appears to be a braided steel cable, how often does something like that fail without advance (fraying) warning?

Most failures I have heard about where the tightening mechanisms. That has been a little while ago though...

I've had my HMK Pro Boa's since the 06/07 season and have not had a single problem with the BOA lace system. I could see that a field fix would be a problem if the cable broke, but if it was a poor system I'm sure the guys at HMK would have abandoned it long ago.

if you get the hmk boa pro's don't get the ones with the dial on the side of the boot. they will bust off if you do any type of hard riding. i think the ones with the single tightener on the tongue are way better. they need to have some sort of shield or deflector on the side one especially for the guys that ride wrong foot forward.

Good point about the tightener location! I never thought about that when the new ones came out with 2 seperate tighteners (sounded like a good idea). Mine are the older style (black/orange boot) with a single one on the tongue.

Klim are you listening???

I have a set of pro boa's I bought in december of 07..been an awesome boot, finally broke a lower lace late this season..no fraying at all. I snapped it hooking the lace on the edge of the boards some how(very odd deal)..very simple to replace(and under warranty no less)..but if you do break one..just tie the ends in a knot and they will still work until you can replace them...the adjusters hold enough extra cable to easily accommodate the knot....
