Klim Line Increased By 32 Percent

Fills more specific functionality requirements of riders

Rigby, Idaho - As snowmobilers, our gear requirements are very specific to the type of riding we do, but also differ from one rider to the next. A garment that works well for one rider may not work well for another. That’s why the clothing we wear needs to be built more precisely and accurately to fit our needs and give us the protection we require.

Although each rider may have different needs, the fundamental requirements built into our clothing are the same and go beyond fashion. On a basic level, our clothing is able to provide comfort and protection from the elements. This is the foundational functionality of Klim’s technical outerwear.

Klim has been working hard on a continuing basis to more fully understand the rider’s needs. As snowmobilers, we are now taking our sleds farther, faster, higher and deeper into the backcountry than ever before. As a result, our regular “riding” gear has become “survival” gear.

To fulfill the requirement of protecting riders by providing the ultimate in protection while also creating a garment that specifically fills the functionality requirements of the rider, Klim has increased its clothing line this year by 32 percent. Klim only accepts quality of materials and workmanship that are at the cutting edge of what is technically possible in the textile industries, which makes it possible for the Idaho-based company to offer an uncompromised product to its customers. Klim adapts the latest technologies and manufacturing processes into its products in order to fill specific functionality and protective requirements that riders have never had access to before.

New for Fall 2010, is the Klim Keweenaw Parka ($359.99), a highly technical insulated Gore-Tex parka which meets the needs of the rider who requires uncompromised waterproofness, ultimate protection from bitter-cold weather and unrestricted movement through the use of a new category of Thinsulate Insulation.

The Klim line will also include the new Impulse Gore-Tex Jacket ($249.99), a stealthy option that includes all of the comfort that Gore-Tex and Thinsulate Insulation have to offer.

Watch for more information on Klim’s full, new product line, which will be available this fall.

Great. Now the guy running this place is posting advertisements. What a joke.
Also bought a pair of brand new bibs that tore the first time I put them on. Klim = quality

MR POSITIVE. I would guess he is simply making us aware, which being a KLIM fan I for one appreciate. You had some bad luck, I've had little to no issues with KLIM.

I posted it because chances are you never noticed that it was posted on the front page of SnoWest.

It sure would be nice if Klim also included the internal Hydration Bladder opition like they have in their top of the line Enduro jacket (hint hint).

Also, make the knees on the pants more abrasion resistant.

I stopped by the Klim HQ this April... their operation is impressive. The number of garments going out the door and the active presence in the Snowmobile community is a plus for all sledders.

I've had very good performance from my Klim Gear.

The bar keeps getting raised and all the clothing mfgs seem to be stepping up!!

They really dont elaborate how this new jacket differs from the Valdeze or other jackets?

What are the specific features???

Hard for me to get all warm and fuzzy over something that has no details to it.... especially since this is the time of year I make decisions about what to buy for next season.

I may have to buy a Keweenaw jacket just becuase that is where I do 90% of my riding! LOL.

Hmmmm

I wonder if Klim might be watching this thread ??

klim rocks, have a few different items, bought the powerxross glove and inbetween the fingers came unstiched they warranteed no ?s asked. There is some pretty sweet gear out there but i dont think i will ever buy anything but klim. the lime green tomahawk will be my next buy

Klim must be run by a bunch of chinks, because they have no idea what a "tall" size is.

Have done some R & D for Klim in the past and was impresed with the attention they gave to feedback we furnished them, probably why I still wear Klim.
Look at what Guides wear day in day out wherever you are and 99% are wearing Klim

But if your TALL, then you need a tall size.
I can understand the problem.

I wonder what the market size has to be for KLIM to be willing to introduce a a new product size?

The Keeweenaw is insulated. Some people just prefer an insulated jacket. Some people don't completely understand how to layer properly. This jacket is there to help fill that void.
I would guess that water bladders in snow jackets are tricky. Common issue is the delivery line will freeze up. The other issue might be that it now adds another layer between you and your backpack. Might make fitment somewhat uncomfortable.
MH, they are already using Cordura or a reinforcement in most critical areas of their pants and parkas. The material they are using already seems more durable than most MX gear. How are you hurting this stuff? I ask because I've never had an issue, but I hear of others that have. Everyone's riding style varies so much that it's hard to know what is needed. Some people you could send out in metal armor and they will find some way to break it and think that's just normal. The next person will have the same gear for 10 years and never have an issue.
I have a tomahawk jacket that should be a poster for klim. :hail:That thing has been used for years as my daily jacket, my enduro jacket, motorcycle street jacket, rain jacket. I've crashed numerous times in it, bounced off trees with it, had it covered in so much mud you couldn't tell what color it was. I wash it and dry it and it is still as waterproof and breathable as the day I got it. Might be a little faded though.
Klim has also added a boot similar to the adrenaline, but with more insulation value. Forgive me, I forget the name of it right now. Those who are naturally colder or have poor blood flow will appreciate this. As well it may be popular with some eastern riders who are often riding in very fridged temps.
Tall sizes are tough. I certainly feel you pain, but I can see the issues through the eyes of the manufacture too. On the sales floor, for every 1 person that needs a tall size jacket you are likely to see 50 that don't. Unfortunately, you see the same issues with motorcycle jackets and gear. Hopefully, they will soon be adding a tall size to one of their lines of jackets. Klim jackets do tend to be generous in sleeve length to accomodate most people, but obviously not all. They do offer some tall options in their pant line though.
There are many more additions for this season. I wil try to post up more later. Thank you Klim! :thumb:

Try being short and wearing Klim gear. LOL. I am 5'5" 190 lbs, kinda wide at the shoulders, and the belly. I have to wear a klim XL to make sure I can get it over my tekvest, that fit is fine, but the sleeves are about 3" too long. Maybe if I had gorilla length arms it would fit better.

Regardless, love my Klim stuff.

I hope someone from Klim is reading this, because they make a tall bib, but not a jacket?

Do they think people's legs are long, but nothing else??

I wear Klim and really like it, but they need to get a tall jacket.

I thought that was strange too when I bought my XL Klim Valdez jacket 4 years ago. I'm 6'3" and depend on tall sizes, mostly due to arm length, but a little extra core coverage never hurts. I've also heard that the durability of the newer gear isn't the same...can anyone confirm this? I justified the original bibs/jacket cost based on longevity and functionality. I hope they keep to their roots and stay with quality over quantity. I hope Klim see's this thread!!!
