Klim Glove Warranty Claim w/Pics

Thread Rating

Sorry not trying to highjack the thread but what I have found to work the best for me is to buy a pair of unlined leather gloves and bring along 3 or 4 pairs of wool liners. When they get wet, put in a dry liner and your good to go again. I have never found lined gloves that will stay dry for more than a couple of hours. They get wet from sweating, digging or both.

I had a pair of Klim Klimate gloves that the seams ripped out after 2 or 3 rides. Those gloves SUCK! Warranty refused to let me get the togs that I was willing to pay for the upgrade.

I really like North Adventure Powder Storm gloves. They have really good grip and have been very durable. The only thing I do to them is slobber them with snoseal and hit them with the hairdryer to get it to really soak in.

True North Adventure is the way to go! I have a pair that must be 5 years old with no rips/tears only some melting from warming them up on the pipe. Finally retiring them to truck gloves this winter.

For gloves I use a set of DaKine gloves with the leather palms and fingers, awesome cold gloves for me, plus they haven't ripped or cuy on my down hill skis edges. For warmer weather gloves I use marker leather spring gloves, carry 2 pairs of those and work amazing.

I have gloves but...

I actually have lots of pairs of gloves that work pretty good. Maybe too many pairs. I have a set of True North's, RU Outsides, Dakines, and some other cheapo set that actually work fairly well. I just wanted to let some fellow Sno-Westers see for themselves that IMHO Klim was lackluster in standing behind their product. I saw a few other posts in this thread that indicated the same thing. Hopefully someone who either works for Klim or knows somebody will let the right people know and they can take a harder look at their product or their warranty policy. Like I said in an earlier post, I have their bibs and jacket and they have held up OK. Maybe the glove is not as good of a product as the rest of their line is. Either way, it might be something they need to take a look at.

I have a set of the HMK gloves and the True North Adventure ones as a back-up pair and I have been very happy with both. I have two full seasons on the HMK ones and they still look good. I have only wore the true north ones for a couple of full rides but they seam to be a good glove also (I can't speak for the durability of those yet). I have had the HMK ones on down past the 30 below range a few times and with the liner in they are very warm and not too bulky.

I gave up on Klim gloves last year.

Had a set they ripped apart at the finger seems after maybe three trips out west. Sent them in and recieve a new pair and I was happy. About three more rides and wow look they did it agian called them and they told me that I must be abusing them! whatever!

Bought a set of Castle gloves and rode the rest of the year and they still look new, HUH.

i have 3 pair of klim gloves. i have the inversions or mechanic gloves with windstopper, the powercross, and the towogotee's. i got the powercross and towogotees for xmas. not a big fan of the towogotees. they are big and bulky to me. but, i keep them in the bottom of my backpack incase my hands do get cold.

i loved the powercrosses until i got a little too close to the pipe on my buddys viper. melted a couple of the fingers. they don't draft or anything, just pissed me off.

the inversions are awesome for warmer weather. but, like the rest of you, i can see that the stitching is starting to come apart on a couple of the fingers.

so, do i need to have a receipt for the gloves if i want to send them in for repair/replacement? i bought them at the cat shop in cooke 2 winters ago and i am pretty sure i was intoxicated when i did so. prob didn't even get a receipt.

Sent my boots and my Inversion gloves in this summer, I had sent them the pics and she explained that the gloves would probably not be covered. I received a call and they couldn't figure out how the right glove was fine but the left was in bad shape. They sent me a pair of new boots and gloves. She wanted their designers to look at the gloves.

I didn't have a receipt for mine and got the number from Sarah out at Cooke City Motorsports. Called and got a claim number and sent them in.

They sent me a new pair.

I have the tog gloves, the goggle "squeegee" ripped out and klim warantied, no questions asked...other than that have had good luck with them...

This was a thread a while ago, but I got a little lazy in the search and decided to just start a new one. I sent my Klim gloves in for a warranty claim and received them back in the same condition I sent them. I probably wore these gloves 6-8 times total, they were my warm weather gloves. Here is the response I got "After careful evaluation of your gloves we have discovered no material or workmanship defects. Our warranty policy covers workmanship for the life of the product." The pics speak for themselves, but as you can see the stitching has clearly failed on a couple of seams, and on one glove the "wrist tightener" completely pulled out. Needless to say I was unimpressed with the way they handled it. In the grand scheme of things not that big of a deal, but I will definitely look elsewhere when it comes time to get new gear. Just thought I would post up to share my experience. For the record, I also own their Bibs and Jacket and they have held up decent, except for one stitching failure in the bibs. I won't waste my time and send those in though.

I had the same problem with the palm fabric coming apart. The nuckles also had separation, so they returned them untouched. Fixed them both with superglue, and i am no longer a KLIM customer. end of story....

I saw these on another thread. I'm hopeing to find a pair soon.

Not melted.

I guess if you look at the pic they do look burnt. Also notice where they are ripped at the stitching. But trust me, they are not burnt. I am not that type of guy. I sent them in feeling I had a legitimate warranty claim and got a less than desirable response back. From what I have seen on this post some have had good luck with Klim, others not so good. I guess I fall into the latter category. The bright side is that somebody posted those fly gloves, which look pretty good. Maybe I will try some of those this winter as well.
