king cat spark plugs

04 carbed 900 with a UB 1000 kit...sled came with BR9ES in it, manual for the stock 900 says BR9EYA. Anyone run both and noticed a difference? I'm inclined to run the ES since that's what was in it...don't want to leave anything on the table though ;)

I know the R in bR9eya is a resistor. The EFI sled's NEED that resistor to cut down a frequency noise that can mess up the computer.

Go for the br9eya

Not sure what the difference is, but the br9eya can take alot more abuse than the br9es, they will last longer.

I bought both and just looking at them it looks like the BR9EYA has a longer electrode which is notched as mentioned before. Otherwise identical, the BR9ES was cheaper though.

To the durability of each, I've never run BR9EYA's but I've never had a BR9ES fail, I can't imagine needing a tougher plug.

spark plugs

I don't know for sure if the 9ES plugs will cause problems but I know running the 9EYA in an engine that calls for 9ES will. The tips are a little longer and they apparently run a little hotter. I burned pistons on a couple 600 twins and a 600 ZRT 9 or 10 years ago when I got a good buy on EYA plugs. Went back to the ES and no more trouble.
