They're not trying to "force" anything on you.They just feel they have something great they want you to have it too.

Definitely some of them are persistent and possibly over zealous but it's only because they feel what they offer will help you.
I come from a religious family and they constantly tell me they pray for me.I don't believe but I still say thanks because know all they want is what's best for me.

I somewhat agree. I do not think it is good to have anything pushed on you. I will use the example of people that go door to door pushing an obvious made up religion that has no legitimate evidence to prove its validity. IMO that is wrong.

I wasn't going to chime in on this thread at all because debating religion is a no-win situation in my opinion but the statement made by BigJake here could be said about ANY religion could it not?
I mean isn't every religion based entirely on faith?

There is zero proof or evidence available to prove any religion is valid is there?
I've read the Bible but I've also read many other books.
Claiming a book is true and absolute fact does not prove that it is.
But believing it is with your heart can make it true for that person.

It's about a persons belief and because of that belief they generally treat others with respect and caring.

Unfortunately, fanaticism and extremism in religion has killed more people than anything else in history. (so I'm told)
Most religious people I know are good caring people and if that is what religion can do then I see nothing wrong with it.

People can believe whatever they want no matter how stupid it really is. It's no skin off of my back and that is something that makes this country great. What I do have a problem with is Religions or cults that try to push their said religion on other people...........That is wrong!

Pushiness could be related to what I said about extremism or fanaticism couldn't it?
I mean, once you tell them you are not interested and they continue...then that becomes them not respecting your beliefs (or lack of) which is, besides disrespectful, it is extremism.
