I put one on my nytro. Noticed the weight difference when I went to reinstall the skid. Lost about 16 lbs in the skid alone. I didn't do the drop brackets due to cash constraints. (credit cards like me) I went with the standard fox zero pro shock in the rear and I do not have the transfer brackets.
Sled setup
My front shocks are fox floats and I do not have a sway bar, I am using the challenger track off an m7.
Few things I noticed.
The sled sits up much higher in the back. I am not sure how much exactly, but it is noticeable.
When hill climbing, the sled felt much more planted and didn't lift the skis up as much as the stock skid did. Also, hill climbing crossing other tracks was much improved too, felt more stable.
I haven't ridden it yet in deep powder, so I can't comment on that.
The bump absorption is much better. Sometimes I like to test out suspensions by finding holes and nosing right into them. Not the best method for weak suspensions, but I like to know what I can slam and what I can't. The skid did really well and only lightly bottomed on the front track shock (preload on 2). Note that I had extremely harsh bottoming on the front track shock (preload on max) with the stock skid in smaller hits. I was really happy with this result, as slamming into holes is pretty hard on the front track shock and front suspension and the sled did great.
I haven't been able to test much on straight drops, but given it past the hole slamming test, it is a fairly good assumption that it will be much improved.
I was surprised that while hill climbing the skiis were not in the air as much, yet the sled seemed to transfer much better on slow speed acceleration, especially through whoops and other terrain. I liked that change a lot.
Over all I am very happy with the K-MOD. For what you get, it is a good deal.
Kevin was great to deal with, and readily responded to my nagging pm's emails and calls.
Hope some of this helps.
