just bought a 09 X 163". what do i need for it????

i have the same sled and would highly reccomend that u get the tunnel reinforcments.. if u do any kind of jumping the tunnel will tweak fairly quick.. also if u get a can go with mbrp.. they have had good luck with them. and a skidplate is pretty essential if ur in the woods alot..

at least the doo can be towed. those yammys are like tryin to pull a tank from what i hear. i've still got all the chopper #s in my phone from last year from all the apexs that had to be lifted out. i'd love to have the horsepower the put out, but i want to go ride, not be a hill mechanic on the side. i'm surprised yamaha hasn't got a "tunnel tool box option" from mac or snap on yet. i bet 50% of the ridin i've done has been sittin waitin to get the apexs runnin, or tuned, or put back together. and then they can't even make it out for drinks later cause they've gotta be on snowest all night tryin to figure out how to get their **** workin again so they can ride the next day. lol. anyways, not tryin to trash anyone, just speaking from past experience.

Does CR racing make a polished 1/4" thick stainless steel tunnel?Anything less would be a waste for this guy.

Just because a guy blows his intercooler off, TPS craps out, suspension brackets break off, tunnel cracks, shock bolt breaks, lose a rear boggie wheel, shorted spark plug wire, boost gauge craps out, rail tips wear off, one cracked header on a couple trips doesnt mean the Apex isnt reliable does it??

Dont forget driving half way across BC to get fuel on one of the only blue sky days i saw last year.

I would start with looking for new friends that will ride (or be seen with u) Maybe a enclosed trailer so your NEW friends dont have to work on that thing in the cold...
And maybe a membership at Jenny Craig.....(Cheaper than light weight parts

Here's what you need for your XP.......My 08 XP runs like a rocket and like most 2 strokes determining what your XP need is based on many factors especially $$$.

SUSPENSION.....

1.Fox Floats up front
2.Fox Zeropros in the rear
3.Heavier Torsion Springs if your a heavy rider

Motor.....

1.Trigstad Porting or BigBore works awesome on the 800R motor
2.K&N Filters together with a complete vent kit work great for "AIR"
3.Stock pipe is hard to beat... But you do save weight with a lightweight can such as HPS

Cluthing......

1. By the looks of thing if you run above 8000' the 09 will require more weight
2. I prefer TEAM's secondary and Heavy Hitter Adjustable Flyweights in the primary (Who knows maybe the 09 will be closer than most years)

It's all about the Track Speed.
