Jumping ship to a Pro. What do look for?

o thought you mentioned on the other thread that the pros did not need any venting or cluching, never touched yours and works perfect

Yep, I bought the kit from Team. I'm very happy with it. The most noticeable difference is the smooth back shift. It's hard to compare the track speed and clutch temps unless you were in an ideal testing/comparing environment. RPM's seem to hold well, but whose to say how much difference there is over the TSS-04? I might sound like I don't see improvement, but I do. I'm glad I did it.

i had mentioned that venting is needed in all mountain sleds, venting cools componets and improves belt life, and cannot be implemented at the factory due to noise

slick your causing unnessicary conflick here... go ride your pro

Yeah it was evident in your post that you were just trying to help and avoid conflict. Good try.........no takers tho.

Hey guys, I bleed green. Love my '10 M8. But, every year at this time I get a new sled. Nervous about the '12 model, could be awesome or could be a flop. Sounds like I have my M8 with 1500 miles on it sold for $7800, and have a line on a Pro with 290 miles on it for $9700 with a lefty throttle-don't need, and a skid plate. From what I gather, the Pro's need venting. I don't know if I'll be looking for a can since they only save a few pounds-not 16 like the Cats. The best part about these things is they don't need a bunch of aftermarket stuff. So far I'm thinking a Mountain addiction gas rack, venting-2cool? and gas and oil. What do you think?

I picked my Pro up at the dealer and have put fuel and oil in it so far. Very little oil I may add. Nothing else. While I realize sleds are fun to Mod and tinker with, my Pro has not needed ONE thing other than fluids to keep it going strong. The venting???? Does it hurt to vent the sled? Of course not. Does it have to have it? I have not needed it. My sled has performed flawlessly so far. Of course some will disagree, that's fine. No harm, no foul.

Buy it, ride it, enjoy it. It is a very fun sled.

Sswim- how many miles do you have on your sled? What are you guys seeing out of your belt life? I've heard they aren't great on belts without venting. I'm not into engine mods, but subtle changes to the suspension and clutching are helpful and don't compromise reliability or warranty. These are the only mods I'm looking into.

Approx. 500 miles. Original Belt. Ridden like it was stolen.:face-icon-small-hap Not a single hiccup. The sled has been ridden hard. Many test rides from others that could not believe it was bone stock. It really surprises people. Puts a BIG smile on your face.

Ditto, except I'm at 650 miles. 0 mods (that includes vents) other than a gas rack.

Changed first belt at 950 miles. Pulled a little section of cord at around 800 miles, kept an eye on it and it didn't progress. Swapped out the belt at 950 because it was getting narrow.

Stock clutching, no venting, wetter Lake Tahoe snow.
