I was at the game last night and you could just tell something wasn't right. I haven't always agreed with how he did things but he will definatly be missed. Good luck Jerry

Feels like someone died today, nice to see the emotion of someone you dont see much emotion from....long live Jerry! (in a b-ball sort of way)

Couldn't agree more. No matter if you liked him or hated him you have to agree he was one of the greatest ever. I'm worried we are going to join the coaching carousel with someone new every year or two.

I wonder what's the chances of getting Stockton to coach?

Agreed. I thought they were ready for a change, but the way this went down leads one to wonder what was going on. The end of a winning legacy under Sloan. Let's hope Tyrel can lead them back to the finals!

Something is fishy in Jazz-land....and the fish stinks!! I heard a rumor 2 weeks ago that D Will was demanding a trade or that Sloan be fired. Too ironic! I think their press conference was a bunch of smoke and mirrors and everyone towing the "party line!" I would like to know the real story. Sloan was a no nonsense coach, and very loyal! No way the Sloan we have all seen over this many years bails in the middle of the season! I would like to see a couple games of a completely empty stadium!!! This may just be a wake up call to the whole NBA about who their customer really is....the FANS!!! Without the seats full the egocentric athlete makes 24,000.00 a year!

Ditto!

I heard that dude in egypt stepped down too. Maybe Sloan and the egypt dude are getting together to start their own B-Ball team in their own country??? Not one for sports or politics but I wish them both the best.

If Deron is that unhappy with Sloan he will never be happy. After the game Wed I was so unimpressed with Williams I told my wife he needed to be traded. He had no desire to be out there playing, Rose made him look stupid. If managment got rid of Sloan to keep Deron happy you can mark Feb 9th as the end of the Jazz. I'm sure Larry is rolling over in his grave. We just get rid of Boozer then Deron turns into a cry baby. Thats why I love high school sports, the kids play for the love of the game not 16 million. Go Morgan Trojans!!

really sad day. I grew up watching sloan and now hes done. My thoughts I think he just doesn't have the energy to fight through disputes with players anymore. He even said with stockton and malone there were disputes. and with deron. deron said hes seen sloan get in arguments that were worse then what he and deron had. I have and always will love sloan as a coach no one will replace him but look at how is energy was back when the jazz made it to the finals and then look at it now. he didn't have the energy to push the team. Ty is a younger guy hopefully his coaching philosophy will be great and he will have the energy to push the jazz to their fullest potential. I too was at the game on Wednesday vs the bulls and I'm so glad I was there to see Sloans last game and not to mention Boozer heard me under the basket yelling at him ;)

The rest of the season will be interesting all we can do is hope for the best and hope corbin controls this team and pushes them and d will to a championship.

Do you guys think that Corbin really is the coach of the future though? I cant believe you can have your head coach step down and think that in a matter of 12 hours you have your new man found without even seeing whats out there. Nothing against Corbin but name him interm coach and see whats out there at the end of the season when you don't have to worry about a game the next night.

I think they name him coach instead of interim to avoid another team coming in and taking him away. They still have the ability to look and replace while keeping him as needed.

Greg Miller said in his interview that Frank Layden told home something that he will never forget. It was the NO player is worth more than this franchise. I wonder if that was him just stating that, or if there was an underlying message being said?
D-Will has been very erratic this year.....it's really funny others are having the same thoughts I have about him. I am not sure he will be around very long at this point. Time will tell I guess.
As far as Ty. Love the guy. I actually liked watching him as a player. But how is he going to yell at the refs with all that oatmeal in his mouth? Seriously how can he yell a play across the court and have anyone understand him? Unless he can end this season in the playoffs and with a good record, I doubt he will be back. I personally hope he does well.
