Not to tie up this thread with boring sled stories, but sled broke down in a bowl / lake at night. Tore apart case to find the metal cheesegrader. Doubled out Frisby Ridge 40 km of ****ty whooped out trail. Came in the next day with his backup sled and spare sprokets and oil and sat phone, but nobody had a chain. Chaincase had multiple cracks in it and had chain had a few bad kinks in it. Socked in bad were heli couldn't fly onto lake, so reparied as best as possible to ride out of bowl and to top of ridge. Owner of sled is well off, and figured heli-ride would be better then a towing out sh*tshow. Plus we got to ride the rest of the day !!
