It's getting closer!

Not to talk to my self but - was looking at that swedish snowmobile and thinking - how bout if the two skiis could be adjustable so you could push them together for a one ski feel and ride - then push them apart to make it a two skier again? Crazy? Possible? - Could convince more to come to the dark side (of one ski)?

I like your thinking but how about use that brain power to make something that is an add-on to the hawk that would improve it considerably. How about we turn our one ski into two independently moving edges that mount on to the fork. You could create a very wide(powder)ski that would remain nimble and good one hard pack. If there is any improvement needed its at the front ski. AD has done a good job of getting it adequate for all conditions but there is more elegant solution is out there.

Something like talon?

Something like the Talon SX

Yamaha would be my choice to develop the Snowhawk, they seem to understand what is next and are not afraid to drop in and make it work.. They have been the leaders in 4 stroke technology for Moto and SnowMo, sign me up for one !

Uuuhhmm, yeah...

Those Talon guys need to step AWAY from whatever they're inhaling! The amount of body roll in that chassis is alarming. I admire their innovative use of moto parts to build a sled, but I'm thinking the 2-moto conversion is a better alternative than the Talon...

I wish I had ridden the 2-moto's when they were in town last week. The guys I sent up had a great time and were impressed with the technology.

I will be thrilled if another player comes to the snobike market. My first fanner is getting tired and I don't want to break out my spare with no alternatives in the horizon.

The 300# dry weight is a good thing, but the track looks too small for the deep stuff. Same problem the bike conversions have.

yamaha........

i have asked this before....has anybody seen or heard about yamahas snowbike, hawk? just south of buffalo,ny is a very small ski resort that yamaha was at and closed off half the area to everyone but yamaha staff and test riders and a few of the resorts ski patrol that were blocking access to eveyone from all directions... a very close friend of mine that works there was asked to work the weekend for a "secret mission" he told me he talked to a yamaha guy that was riding the machine was a professional motocross racer but didnt mention any names... he never before has seen a snowhawk and asked what it was,so i showed him mine and he said it looked very similar but sounded like a 4 stroke and looked alot lighter ,more like a dirt bike with a snowmobile track. he said a few guys rode it and fell and a few rode it like pros, they kept changing stuff and had a few different bikes they were riding with this ski track set up. if im remembering correctly, this was about 3 years ago. i think its time they release the info and products. alot of people have asked me why yamaha would pick this tiny skii slope to test it....my guess is that tim benders race shop is on the same hill.... i think the other guy should go take a spy photo at his yamaha shop and post it for us.....

i dont care if its red green blue yellow or orange(althought i do ride red in the summer) as long as its trail legal in ny! and all other states for the rest of you.... well i just got back from the 1st 2 rounds of gncc racing down south and we have snow here,so i am going back on the hawk before it melts!!!!

Who says it wasn't some company that makes the conversion for dirt bikes testing at the ski resort and using a Yamaha dirt bike as a base?

I think the talons are very cool. Its obvious they aren't men for the steep ad deep, they are for racing and jumping and i like it, very cool.

possible

its possible but why would they bring out the yamaha semi and several yamaha team members and mechanics if yamaha wasnt involved other than them using their bikes as a test platform?.im sure sooner or later some more info or pics of that day will get out there......
