Island Park / West Yellowstone Riding Conditions for 2024-2025

Coming from Bozeman to IP to ride next week. Looks excellent. Hoping for Sunday night to put it over the top

Me and my wife are coming up to island park 1/24 from Florida it’s a bucket list trip. She has never ridden sleds before but has a bunch of four wheeler, dirt bike experience. We rented a cabin just east of the golf course. Plan on renting sleds from one of the local places. Any recommendations on if we should rent some trail sleds or do you think we can manage getting off the trails with some mountain sleds. Just a little worried about running hot if she doesn’t like it and wants to stick to the trail.
Any recommendations on an off trail guides, high mountain doesn’t have one at the moment.

Do both.
Rent her a nice trail sled for day 1-2
Take her on some nice loop trails and see if she enjoys the experience.
If yes, then rent a couple mountain sleds for a day and dive off into some of the high alpine meadows and see what she thinks of that as her next step.

Great idea, hopefully get some more snow between sled fest and when we get there.
