It seems to me that the pro may be the best all around mountain sled ever built ! Maybe not the most powerfull, but aside from that I have to say it is crazy,I am almost 50 and just dont have the strengh I used to but this sled is so light feeling that several times a day it does things that just blow me away!Everyone you let ride it says "i got to get me one of those!".
Just wish I was 20 again so I could get the full potental of this thing. It seems that all the young guys are driving cats and doos cause all they care about is power.I cant imagine a younger guy that can really ride on one of these pros.:face-icon-small-hap

I'm 22 and just got a pro. I used to ride a dragon and am pretty much a polaris guy. I almost got a cat last year, and let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't! This sled amazes me every time I ride it!

It's truly a great sled and doesn't feel down on power at all compared to the others(with non ethanol plug), I rode a 2010 M8 and an 11 etec and the differences are pretty minor in real world riding. If you want more power forget switching brands, you'll need a turbo if you want to see a meaningful difference in power.

Agree and can confirm what your saying. I am 49, my friend 31, he rode my pro 163, when I watched him I was envious and wanted my youth back, he carved like no other sled on the mountian, it looked like a Burant video. I know I am riding one of the best built sleds ever regardles of a few issues. Two weeks ago and Etec pulled up and wanted to side hill again each other I did and watched him over my shoulder turn out half way across the slope, I was struggling to keep a straight pull when I crossed others tracks but regaurdles out manuvered the Doo.

It is this year, and it SHOULD BE!! Just like the next new sled (CAT for 2012) should raise the bar again.... ;)

its a good M series copy, but I dont think its the best mountain sled,

my friends has been in the shop since early December waiting for a tunnel, its now nearing the end of February, I guess he will have a new 2011 to ride next year:rain:

It's nothing like the m series. Copy? Lol. They took everything that worked on the iq and kept it and then everything that didn't work they fixed.

I would say it is certainly the current measuring stick.

agreed, they took a few things off the IQ and the rest they copied off the M

Since the M chassis has been the same since 05, I'm sure AC has plenty of parts laying around the factory. It's been frustrating waiting for back ordered parts for the Pro, I guess that's why you Buy 2 new sleds :D

A copy of the M, that is funny. Spoken like someone who just can't give props where they are deserved. "It's a good sled, but it's a copy of my favorite brand!".

Rest assured, the new AC will be released soon. If everything goes as planned (and as it should) then they will have the best mountain sled for 2012. But what if their new sled doesn't live up to expectations? The Pro already has!

I am over here trolling because I am afraid Cat is going to build a XP copy, I have bought 10 new Cats in a row and will be riding a Pro if CAt does that, so how is that for giving props to Polaris, it appears they made an improved M, doesn't seem to roll over as easy as an M but I think I can fix that

I wonder if I can put a Powder claw under the Pro:D

but I am not convinced the Polaris motor problems are over, the M8 is stone reliable compared to the other sleds in 800 class, so can I put the Cat 800 in the Pro chassis :D

I know of a powder claw on a Pro. Rides nice.

Wishing I was 20 again.

I'm going to be 57 in April and this machine just made my riding so much easier! Maybe it doesn't have the most power but it just flat works for me. I have rode the M8 snopro and it is a great machine also but I feel the RMK pro seems to fit me better as far as being able to get the most out of it. The XP is a great sled also, haven't rode the E-tech but did ride an 09 XP. The owner could do things with it that I had a hard time doing. He makes it looks easy. I sure with a little time I could get used to it, just a different learning curve.
The new snowmobiles that are available today are all good, just a matter of personal preference. For me the Pro RMK fits me the best for now. What matters is that we are doing what we like, shredding snow!!!:face-icon-small-coo

i'm an ex 15 year cat guy and see nothing copied from the cat, nothing. rode the pro once and knew i'd never want to ride my M again. did they copy the narrow chassis? cast bulkhead? running boards? coilover suspension? lightweight? ability to carve faster/sharper than any other production sled? smooth linear power? reliable chaincase? ease of steering? permagrin?

is this the best production sled ever built???

YES!!!

Seems to me it will be unproven and a unknown. I have not heard anything about it other than it will be new. Probably chassis and motor which is kind of scary. You know what they say about first year sleds. And that is a lot of changes to make at once.

This thread should be over in the Cat section, cause I know people from AC read our forum.
I have to agree that the pro rides/carves ALOT like the cat, however it is refined, new, and exciting. (I have a 430# cat).
The pro does stay up on the snow, wheras the cat's front is up and rear is digging.
I have to agree, that a 4 stroke 500+ sled from cat would be a step in the wrong direction, and I'm not going to suckered into snowchecking a first year run like I did in 07 (sandman knows what I'm talking about) so it won't be until this time next season that I am on a new sled should I decide to pass on the pro.
It's been a long time since poo has been in the mountain game. And as a guy who wears cat blinders, I'll be the first to admit that they nailed this sucker with a first year run, and have set the bench pretty high. REVOLUTIONARY!!
