Is there such a thing as too young?

I had a few “conversations” with my wife about getting my 2 ½ year old a kitty cat for Christmas and I guess I lost that “debate”. Is it just the little boy inside of me that sees nothing wrong with this or is this too young? Hell, he has all of the gear already and Minnesota finally has snow for a change.

cant hardly get into too much trouble on a kitty kat. i got one when i was 4, hours of fun.
you could put in your order for an 800 dragon now and you might get it about the time he is old enough to ride it;)

my daughter is three. she tears the yard up on her atv(suzuki lt 50), and she has a xc120 that she won't ride yet, but when the other kids ride i'll bet she gets on it also. there is nothing better than watching her run around the yard.

A Kitty Kat for a 2.5 year old doesn't sound unreasonable ... Hell I started riding a 340 solo when I was 4 ...

I had the cash for a new 120 for my 3 yr old and "Mommy" pretty much screamed NO! Next year I am just gonna go get the thing and deal with her $hit later, shoulda done it this year. He loves sleds! I feel like a crappy Dad because I listened to her. Oh, well LESSON LEARNED!

my motto is it is easier to ask for forgivness than permission. sometimes it works

I thought about doing the same thing and feel the same way!

I always have my big week long trip out west over the Holiday and I figured it would be best not to do that because then she would be home alone with two boys(2.5ys and 4mo's) for a week to think about what I did. I could only imagine what I would come home to, example, the door locks and the code to the garage changed.

Thanks for everyone's response.:beer;

You can never be to young to ride my dad has pic' of me when i was a little over two riding one with my little sister on the back, My niece just started riding and she just turned 3 she love's it get your kid one!

My kids were 3 when they got their first kitty cat. I had to run behind with a rope tied to the sled for the first while until they figured out how to ride. Tons of video footage of them riding. Now they have graduated to Phazer's and have been riding them for the last 2 years.

Not too young. If you teach them safety you should be safe. Let em rip and you will either scare the crap out of them or get them hurt.

Always easier to ask for forgivness than it is to get permission. I'm a pro at that... just ask my wife. haha

Never too young. Had both my boys riding 120's by the age of 3 and my oldest at 6, just took ownership of a 600 Yamaha. 100cc for every year he has been alive. At this rate, he will be on Rated R or something from Brent Lindermans garage by the age of 18. :D

never too young

I'll post pics to show your wife on Christmas... my two year old is getting a pink snowmobile under the tree. I don't care if she just sits on it and makes cool noises.

I've been riding since I was 2-1/2, got the scars to prove it. Been riding solo since I was old enough to start on my own (5 years old).

You gotta keep momma happy, for a while. Then she has to lighten up & let go soon though too.

I don't think that's too young! It's a great age to get them started. It's not like your child is going to be out riding all alone....you'd be there to monitor. It's great to introduce them and teach them about the sport while they are young. :)

when it come to my baby girl mom has the last word as for my son i have it no fights thats it the law

My son was 2-1/2 whenhe started riding the kitty cat and 4 when he started riding the zr120.

A family friend bought his girls a Mini Z years ago, one was only 2 the other was 3 or 4.
The oldest is 11 now and has her snowmobile license (new thing in this state). She has already been "riding" for 7 years. And would surely highmark RJ. Both can ride full size mountain sleds no problem, last weekend the younger daughter, 9 now was riding her dads 800 rev, the other was on a 700 RMK.

Teach them the ins and outs, and most importantly to respect the machine. You will be fine. Most kids that age if anything might be scared to ride alone.
