Is there a way to fix a track?

Hey guys, I recently had one of my suspension rails go through one of my track windows and tear the track. The tear is going towards the outside of the track and about 1.5 inches long. Is there a method of fixing this or do I have to buy a new track? thanks.......

I had a rip lengthwise in mine about 12 inches long in the middle. It went all the way through the fiberglass rods and everything. I ordered a product called E-6000. It's an industrial adhesive for fixing conveyor belts. I put that on the rip, both sides, and let it cure really well. I have only ridden about 50 miles on it so far but it shows no signs of ripping again. It's $10 for a tube and that did my whole rip and then some. It's poor mans track repair but I think it will work. Give it a try.

I don't know anything about e-6000 but you might find it at kaman industrial. They supply conveyor products and berrings(dont buy berrings at a dealer, better quality and price at kamam). You should be able to find a store near you.

Same thing happened on my moms XLT, what you need to do is go get some windshield appoxy and put it along the track to seal it up. it should work ok just check on it every now and then and apply when it needs it.

We did it to our XLT and theres nothing wrong with the track , al wee did is seal the tear(s)

Do you know which type you bought? Searching the net there seems to be several varieties of the stuff available.
