Is the season over?

I love dirt bikes!! Shouldn't even be thinking of them this time of year!! But what the heck! Got to love Moab!

Of course there is still enough snow to ride. Spring riding that is. But if one thinks it is going to be on par with this time last year you are living in the rabbit hole. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-ton:face-icon-small-coo

Its shaping up to be one of those stellar years. That's if you ride bikes year around. Into the 70s here on the western slope and Moab area this weekend.

Moab sounds like a great idea. I have a license plate and plenty of av gas too. This turbo wildcat needs some fun trails to catch some air on. Sam let me know, I'll likely head out Just need to get a few things done the next couple days here in boulder.

I think it depends on what part of the state you live in. Down here in the southwest it sure feels like it is over. I rode Molas last week and it was so so, and I skied today at Purgatory and it wasn't so good. Snow is way below average, disappearing fast, and I don't think we're going to be making it up these last couple of months. Never seen temps in the 50's ad 60's for weeks on end in February.

I am hoping to get at least one or two more days of powder riding in, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's so far from being over! I'm going out with the boys tomorrow to ride and I'll make sure to take some pics just to show how not-over the season is. :face-icon-small-coo

That is an interesting graph of the snowpack, thanks for sharing. We just had an article in our local paper that our snowpack (Steamboat area) is not far off of the median for this time of year. Sure there is not much snow, but what is there is full of water. I hope this at least fairs well for our summer and the dreaded fire ban.

If I lived in Colorado I would be taking sick days next Monday and Tuesday....Central and Southern Colorado should be deep!

Prediction is 1-2 feet in the high country. Then it looks like most of the rest of the week calling for more snow.

Better late than never! My biggest problem is going to be finding somebody to ride with Mon and Tues...

Heading east in the morning.... Looking for advice

We (GF- Val and I) are loading the sleds on the deck tomorrow am and heading out.

Driving from Truckee, Ca (Lake Tahoe) to Colorado. Drive all day, ride on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, as long as the snow is good.

Suggestions? We have never ridden in Co. Looking for trees and deep. Even when Avy danger doesn't prevent, we aren't chute rippers or high markers.

Riding a 2012 Pro 163 Long Rod, and a 2011 Pro 155 Long Rod.
Beacon, probe, shovel, airbag equipped.

Suggestions on where to head, where to stay, where to ride, any other advice?
Couldn't care less about bar scene/ nightlife-- we are going there to ride. We just need cheap (clean is preferred) place to stay, and fuel for sleds.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know what all everybody got last night yet, but know Steamboat/Rabbitears area has done well with this storm and had some pack before that.

So check out Steamboat area lodging, and Hahns Peak, etc.

Murph, I would either go to Steamboat area(rabbit ears pass) or Pagosa springs(wolf creek pass). Wolf creek is supposed to get 30+ inches by Monday. Rabbit ears probably has a better base.

Starting to look promising....

Yeah, good timing! About 8" already in the valley north of Durango.

Left Tahoe @ 6pm. Rolling through Nevada right now.

Heading towards SLC and then towards southern CO. Any route suggestions where there is riding along the way? Not going to drive all night, so won't make riding in SoCO tomorrow, should we detour or stop along the way?

If so, where?
