Is the Fish Lake area rideable yet?

Hey PM sounds like your going to do alot of powder mining for your cabin! Be safe and good luck. Heading up Friday for some mining myself

yep better get those trails cleared for us. The family (wife and mom at least) is pretty dead set on wanting to go to fish lake so we can go to leavenworth and see the christmas lights for a side trip. Tried talking them into Rosylen but they were not very excited. Plus my wife works with Stonewater ranch so I think she wants to go see some of her friends. Still no confirmation from midway, fingers crossed!!

so it looks like the entire Chiwawa loop road is closed? can anybody confirm that, we were going to head over there tonight.

Chiwawa loop is closed still due to downed trees, though my father somehow made it out this AM. Just checked and still no power at Midway. I too am crossing my fingers for the opening of the road and power by tonight as I plan on heading up.

This came down last night.

Almost every lot has a tree or more down. Seems like snowmobile sheds have targets on them.

I forgot my saw and am heading over, again. I went over Wednesday morning to set-up the generator.

Hope to ride tomorrow.

What road is that? Power just came back on along Chiwawa loop, the road is also clear. Heading up at 11pm tonight. Can't ride till Saturday though. Packing a chainsaw with me. The trails are going to be ugly.

Rode Fish lake today, trees are still falling down low, however bottomless snow you can sink nearly 3 feet off trail near the machine sheds. Still some land mines if your too aggressive with the throttle.

Groomers were making there rounds, tough going for them, one said they had a tough time getting out of there the other might, nearly 80 trees were cleared out by the one crew. So much for the I don't need grooming crowd.

Salal Dr.

I had to 4x4 over a log tonight... my wife said she knew I was from Darrington as I got out of the truck and walked up to the tree and just started kicking branches off, got back in the truck and jumped it like I meant to... truth was I was nervous as heck cause if I did get stuck I was at least a mile back to anything and kids in the truck.

Thinkin that our neighborhood is going to be a while.

I miss the Hydro power, between the generator gas and the propane fireplace we are hemorrhaging cash (almost) like the government:jaw:

At least tomorrow I can burn some fuel for the important stuff... like Mining some Powder!

Hey PM I feel your pain! I was told I have a tree across my cabin! :face-icon-small-fro You can only guess what I will be doing this weekend. Lets us know how the mining is!

Pretty bad over there now. Dad just called to report the trees are still coming down. Someone was actually killed tonight on Hwy 2 near Coals Corner by a failing tree. Sad day. Hoping our cabin is OK as its been without power for some time (near fish lake). Luckily the water is turned off, but there could be some pretty bad damage still. :face-icon-small-sho

Went tonight to check on a friends cabin that didn't shut off water... water leaking through two floors:face-icon-small-sad

Went to Wenatchee to buy snow blower and get non-eth and on the way back the transformers that were just fixed for the north shore and south shore were blowing like fireworks. Felt lucky to get back home, and with fuel for the generator. don't think this will be resolved by Christmas.

Yeah it's bad out here. Had a pretty big tree miss our place and another tree threatening the garage as we speak. Stay safe out there! PowderMiner, i'll shoot you a text with plans for a Sunday AM ride. Too much to do tomorrow.

It's ugly. I went over Weddnesday and cut trees and got the generator going. Now I'm stuck on the west side with Christmas functions hoping no more trees fall. Already had two more go down the next day with one just barely missing my deck I just rebuilt. Heading over Sunday to do some clearing. Can't even find time to ride with all the tree games. This is just not right!

Fish Lake Bad

Looks like a war zone. I drove over yesterday to turn off water in cabin(s). No power now for 6 days. Cabin internal temp was 40 degrees, pipes were fine. But, large tree fell on shop, hard to tell damage with 4' of snow on it. Not good.
