Is the Fish Lake area rideable yet?

! will look for them in spring on the duel sport! :face-icon-small-con will keep my eyes open for them, should get the 22 gal's through the XM this weekend :bounce:

We have never been to fish lake. Is there snow at the sno-park, so you dont have to ride on the pavement and dirt?
I see people are talking about the cabins, do you park and ride from them?
Thanks.....

Yes there is snow at the snopark. It isn't quite the same type of snopark as some (like salmon le sac) which has a really big flat parking area. At Fish lake you will pass a sign that says road closed, then in a few hundred yards you will start seeing the right hand side of the road plowed for an extra lane. This is where people park (probably enough parking for around 30 to 40 vehicles with trailers?) The trails all start just past this area and there is plenty of snow....enough to get stuck up to your waist or more if you go off the trail!

7D has passable snow just might see a little snirt! but fine to get to surgarloaf. I was there last weekend and there was a tree down about a mile or so past where 8 ties into 7. Not sure if you can get by this or not, didnt try but assume some has cut this out of the way. Goodluck and let us know if you go this way Thx

Yes we were there at that area last weekend also (maybe we talked to you...we met two riders coming back who mentioned a tree down). We were able to pass two downed trees which may be the ones you are referring. We stopped at a point where the trail branched off...one path went over a very steep berm and had previous snowmobile tracks on it and the other path was deep pristine poweder with no tracks at all.

It sounds like the riding is pretty good over there and should just be getting deeper this next week hopefully. I was wondering if it is possible to bring the camper and sleds anywhere around there, looks like the airstrip sno-park might be the best bet. I want to take the wife over after christmas to ride and go to leavenworth. Thanks and I hope this isn't considered a thread jack.

Wow, Fish Lake got wiped out Monday/Monday night. We rode again on Monday after 2 feet of fresh snow...all of the trails were so loaded my windshield was barely above the snow. We were the only ones (foolish?) enough to ride Monday until early afternoon as we were leaving a group of 8 came pulling up.

Monday night every tree in the area decided to fall and there were more powerlines on the ground than in the air. We had to drive back to Leavenworth and then up Chumstick just to get to our hotel in Plain where we had no power all night (and probably they will not get power for days judging by the amount of power lines down).

I wanted some fresh snow....be carefull what you ask for!

My family has a place up there and just got word from my dad there is almost 4ft of fresh snow since Sunday in the driveway. No word on when the power will be back on and a lot of roads closed. Another 12" is forecasted for the next 36 hours.

yeah I keep checking the P.U.D hotline and at first it said the power would be back on by tonight now it just says they don't know when it will be back. The girl at midway seems very nice but said she wasn't sure they would be able to have a spot for us by the 26th. With all that snow I really want to go now too.
