Is the Fish Lake area rideable yet?

I just finished replacing the cam tensioner and all of the idler wheels in my wife's 07 Yamaha Rage, plus upgraded the diamond drive bearing in my 11 AC M8 (shame you have to do that stuff yourself on a new sled).

Anyway, after several days in the garage I am itching to test them out. I am on Hwy2 so Fish Lake would be really convenient, but I can't seem to get a good read on the snow there. I could also try Smithbrook road near Stevens Pass, but not real psyched about parking on Hwy2...

Anyone been to the Fish Lake Snopark in the last few days?

I was there on Saturday. I was suprised that we found snow so low but we did. We drove in a little ways before unloading but it was fine.

So what place did you stage at then, I was going to go up in the morning and would also like to hit up fish lake area.

I would also like to know this. Can you drive all the way to the Goose creek campground or do you have to go up the mountain even more than that to reach snow?

Fishlake Area

I was there last Saturday and Sunday. You can unload were the trail head is, that would be by the groomer hut. Trail 3 and 4 ( Snow Cone area) is were most of the snow is, at about 3' + towards the top. Took trail up to Mavrick Saddle, alot of dirt still on the trail up but when on the ridge trail, snow is good. Miners ridge and Sugar Loaf area has good snow for a little boondocking but still low snow for good off trail riding. Trail 7 from French corral to Bergest Meadow VERY LOW SNOW! but trail 8 (all of trail 8) not bad snow. Not sure going out to Trinity, but herd snow is good. Off trail riding in the Fishlake area is not good rite now, another 2 to 3 feet and it will be OK. You can unload at Eagle Creek area but about 1/2 mile up road. Hope this helps!

Rode Fish lake today launched at the rode closed sign just enough snow cover you can still see some pavement in spots, we went up to wards Trinity and broke off and went up to wards Chikaman, once you get above 3,500 feet snow gets better. All and all good first day but would like to see another 2 feet here and it will be really good.

13" of new at 2000ft! Will be riding from the Fish Lake sno park at 10am tomorrow. Probably going to head towards Miners Ridge. Anyone is free to tag along. I'll be with a guy on yellow/black XP and i'll be on blue Yammie.

Cool. My wife and I will be there probably around 9am to 10am (depending if the 59r diner country fried steak smells too good as we pass by). I am on a orange white M8 and she is on a blue Yammie also.

Not quite sure where the snopark is, as we have only ridden that area in the summer. Guess I will just look for tracks :face-icon-small-hap

I was thinking Sugarloaf or Trinity, but they are in opposite directions...

Awesome. Late night working on sleds so i"m going to get a late start. Still planning on hitting the snopark at 10am and heading towards the sugarloaf/miners ridge area.

Fish lake was great. We rode both Sat and Sunday. We met RidingaPOS and his wife Sat, and watched him get out of some 3 foot powder near Trinity :face-icon-small-hap

Snowcone was very cool (first time going there). I didn't go to the top because I felt I wanted to ride again, but there were guys there that did make it look easy enough to tempt me.

We were first tracks to the cone sat morning. Hardly ever ride there cause so many others... so i was shocked as i was heading for the steep spot my sled sank 5'!!! Too out of shape yet so only played, and dug, there for a little while.

Met a couple of cool guys tearing it up with us. Thanks for the help digging or rolling!

Got a much later start Saturday then expected (discovered a sheared motor mount bolt). Finally made it out to Trinity in the afternoon. Tons of snow up there for this time of year!

Did you have to trailer to the sno park or could you ride from the cabins?

we rode from the cabins. Went to the tower for trail access. the county plows were leaving a decent edge, good job guys, i'd beer ya if I knew who you were. i'm sure they'll hear about that...

Nice to hear the county plow drivers are leaving something for us to ride on. Hopefully the rest of them will get the memo! :whoo:

Forgot to ask if anyone found some black/amber Scott Xi goggles w/quick strap on the Trinity trail? They fell out of my pack last Saturday. They were free but would like to have them as I haven't even used them yet.:face-icon-small-sad
